Can't wait to watch later tonight. Looks like I'll be voting JB. I was hoping to see the bench held their own in the 4th, but doesn't really seem that way. But, I'll watch regardless, lol. There's probably something wrong with me / all of us.

People are talking about how poor the bench played because there’s nothing else to discuss. The starters put on a clinic.
Could've ended the post right here. Nothing else to discuss?? You could try discussing, I don't know...how "everything is peachy right now"? Or are we not happy unless we're miserable?
didn't stop people "not happy unless we're miserable" when complaining about JB any chance they get even when we were winning and always in the conference finals. I could go on and on about what people complain about during the good times but are pretending to be above it now. we all talk about the good during the bad. we're not even saying much except the bench looked like poo, because they did! It was an embarrassing display by key contributors vs guys we likely wont see doing anything worth while if their good players don't sneak them into the playoffs.
also, yes you can get championship habits 1-15, didn't say they had to be good, but that team effort wouldn't beat a gleague team and two (3 KORNY) guys we actually want to play real minutes looked like they were dudes off the street, not guys who have been with us 3 years at least.
had they just missed shots, whatever, they looked like JB vs Mia game 7 except against guys lucky to have a job. not just bad, horrible.
This is a fair point. You're not wrong here. Last year our bench was pretty good. But it had to be. Because our starting 5 didn't have the firepower this one does. All we did was move that bench scoring into the starting lineup. Can't help but feel like complaining about the bench 3 games in seems "greeady" almost. Our scoring is going to come mostly from our top 6 guys is we're humming anyway. Generally there will only be 2 bench guys on the court at any time unless we're blowing a team out by 30 and those guys won't (and shouldn't) get that many shots because the other 3 guys should handle most of the heavy lifting. That said, yes they had a bad game. Agree with you there. But it's a long season and everyone will get a chance to contribute over the course of the season. As Joe said, guys will have to be patient. Fans will have to be patient on this team as well. Meanwhile, there's a lot of good happening on this team right now.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

I hear what everyone is saying and I mostly agree but I'll say it again, if it was just missing shots I'd have been OK, but they didn't even look like they belong out there with people most of us don't know! They looked inept in everything they did. Last season people were mad at me for being positive Patty, those same people want me to be that way now, weird. I want Prichard and Hauser to keep playing, I thought they did some solid things with the starters, but we're trying to win a championship, they SHOULDN'T look like they don't even belong in the league playing against the deep ddddeep end of the WIZARDS.
FORGET MISSING SHOTS, did you see that mess?

He's absolutely figuring that out as we speak. I have so much confidence in Brad Stevens as a GM; I think more than when he was a coach! He just keeps making good moves.

No they shouldn't. They definitely had a bad game. Though in the grand scheme of things I'm not that worried about their bad game, point taken. If the top 5 are putting up 100+ points in games while just getting to know each other, that outweighs any possible concern I'd have for those guys. But again, I definitely agree that they were pressing tonight.

Last year they started off with some historic shooting numbers if I remember correctly. So it was pretty good but in the end didn't really matter.

I agree to some extent but a lot of his missed shots were pretty heavily contested, and some were off the dribble. So his overall shot difficulty was fairly high.
It's not like all 9 shots were open shots off the catch.
Also, it's not like he's *just* a shooter. He has been a very solid defender in each of our 3 games so far.
True he isnt just a shooter and in fact i like his defense. I meant to say his role is shooting. I would hope he shoots the higher quality shots to find his grove.

I guess the only real question left is - Who is the best player next game. Having 5 guys who can be the MVP on any given night is really rather impressive. My guess - Tatum!
One thing I'm pretty sure about is that I don't think any of our bench players will be the game MVP this year (unless you count Al, who might go off a game or two).

I actually fell asleep after the 3rd quarter and didn't see the 4th. So for me the game ended right after the 3rd quarter. I think judging from the score and what everyone is saying I'll keep it that way.

Just a junk game but that’s how it should look against a non team really. Nothing to take away here. Pacers and nets should at least field competent teams.

The Nuggets bench only averaged 22 ppg in the Finals so the Celtics bench better!

My only real takeaway from garbage time tonight, is that I want to see more Lamar minutes - preferably meaningful mins, when he's out there with some of our top 6 guys.
And that's not even just based on tonight's game. As ya'll know I was high on him during the offseason, plus he looked good in preseason and looked good again tonight.
Yeah man, he's really well rounded. Not really deficient in anything.
