Dude wtf PF was a struggle for us before and we made it worse I feel. Really should tried to keep Nico or Roco. As of right now I do not like this trade. Liked our pace and we are going to screw it up.

Re: Harden may be coming here?
Clippers paid dearly in this trade in future assets and luxury tax hit
4 picks (2 FRP 2 SRP) + 1 swap is a steep price to pay
Then add in losing all of the PFs and being forced to eat PJ Tucker's extra year, which is gonna hurt the 2024 tax bill quite a bit, as he's basically a useless player nowadays around the level of Batum/RoCo, AND lost a young potentially useful prospect in KMJ.
If Harden has a decline and gets extended for near max money, this could be a death knell move for the team as they dont control their own picks out to 2029!!!
if Clips can win a chip or two, while all of Kawhi, PG13, and Harden are still elite players, thats the only way the trade is worth it.
C - Zubac, Plumlee
PF - PG13, PJ, Diabate, Brown
SF - Kawhi, Mann
SG - Harden, Powell
PG - Westbrook, Bones
If the team can be fully healthy in the playoffs, theyre a serious contander. Needs a decent PF for the regular season grind though, i wonder if the team really likes what they see in Diabate and Brown, to move off of KMJ. This team can be very viable to do regular load managing every game 1 of Kawhi/PG13/Harden/Westbrook sitting, if they had a decent PF to slot in to start. PJ aint that man and Mann is light in the ass.

Paid dearly but Harden is in great shape and is shooting well based on limited clips in the offseason.

Hate the deal. This deal has one purpose in mind: Intuit Dome
Clips need to sell season seats and Ballmer thinks 4 once MVP caliber players in their mid 30s is going to generate the excitement needed to sell those tickets.
Not sure how this deal helps us beat Denver. We may jump to #2 in the West, but don't see us taking a playoff series from Denver.
Clips still have to acquire another 1st round pick to complete the deal. The 3rd team must involve sending Norman Powell. Norm could definitely be used in Brooklyn. Hate to see Norm go, but we can't possibly have a roster that would give Lue the option to have Russ, Harden, Bones and Norm on the floor together.

wtf are the Clippers just handing out draft picks so easy. Its fing stupid. This team is old af now and picks are valuable down the road. I hate the Clips GM. Harden was a disgruntled player who told his GM to f off. We could have thrown a bag of rocks at him. Should have sent Powell/Morris/KM/ and only one first. Harden is an expiring deal and an aging player. no max ever to him again. This roster is so poorly constructed. Its 4 aging superstars who dont want to play defense and a center that cant move his feet to defend. It literally makes zero sense. Ballmer and GM are dumb. This team is going to get bullied by Denver and laughed off the court. who guards the joker, AD, Lebron, any decent power forward. this is laughable and the Clips are a 2015 video game team.

Covington was hardly going to play/Morris and defense lol/Batum was swapped for Tucker.

Kawhi is the starting PF now. The backup went from Batum to Tucker.

Re: Harden may be coming here?
My first thought after reading about the trade was "MTV isn't going to like this one bit". Feels like we gave up one FRP too many since we also took PJ and his extra year off their hands.
Still waiting for that third team. Since T-Mann seems to be off the table, maybe it's going to be Norm/BBJ for FRP/Bertans/Poku.

Would have rather given up Mann and Bones than those picks. Yikes. Clippers gotta win a chip in the next 2 years otherwise it's going to be a grim, grim decade.

Re: Harden may be coming here?
It is apparent the Clippers intend to extend both Leonard and George. So, might as well bring in Harden as well.
I am pretty excited about the deal. I am glad to see Morris gone, that's for sure. Batum and Covington weren't giving the Clippers much either so trading all three for Tucker is a wash IMO.
As far as the draft picks go, yeah it sucks, but Ballmer doesn't seem intent on having a rebuilding team so he was probably going to trade them anyways to remain competitive.
The Clippers just got a guy in Harden who averaged 21 points, almost 11 assists and over 6 rebounds a game last season. From all accounts, he is ecstatic to be in Los Angeles and is a hometown kid like Leonard, George, and Westbrook.
I for one intend to try and enjoy what is about to transpire, should be interesting at least.

Re: Harden may be coming here?
This is pretty weird, you'd think it would've been reported by now if we had sent any other assets to OKC. So we gave up a first and a swap, then OKC flipped their/our '26 unprotected FRP to the Sixers for another one later on, maybe some seconds as well? Wish we knew for certain.
Anyway, assuming no more moves are made, it's going to be very interesting seeing how Harden, Russ, Norm and Bones are all going to fit for the next few months.
Also low-key excited for some real Kobe minutes, great opportunity for him.
Hopefully we manage to extend our streak against the Lakers even without Harden. Wouldn't be the first time we whooped them with a depleted roster.

Re: Harden may be coming here?
Petrusev is a 4 (who was forced into being a 5 by the sixers), he moves his feet really well for a 6'11 guy despite not being super athletic and has great off the ball movement and a solid stroke. Nice floater and solid post game as well but lacks a bit of strength to bang with bigger centers.

Re: Harden may be coming here?
I'm skeptical, we'll see how it goes. A lot of guards, so to me, someone (Powell) needs to go for a similar level PF to give more lineup versatility.
I'd prefer Westbrook as 6th man and starting a PF over the small ball lineup too.
I like PJ, but he's almost 40.
Bones was the 26th pick and playing like a late teens pick, Mann is playing like a mid first round pick. What are we expecting those picks to be that we would rather give up players who we know their actual play and performance?
I get that 2028 is far, so who knows, that's understandable, 2026 pick from OKC based on their roster will probably be in the 20's.
Sometimes I think we can get a little bit excessive with the valuing of picks because of the "unknown". You don't give up young enough rotation players and starters for projected later 1st round picks, because those players are on average not going to be rotation players or starters. The 2nds could hurt, but the Clippers should be able to recoup more second round picks, so that sting can be alleviated.
Later picks of course, you never know, that's fair, and that is the gamble to be made.

This is pretty incorrect, but carry on
Return to Los Angeles Clippers
