Clippers on a b2b Wednesday vs. the Lakers.

Only if it increases his trade value. Whatever minutes Coffey is seeing, they're "showcase" minutes.

In NBA parlance, Coffey's "a guy." But at least he's 6'7" and I'd love to see him get minutes somewhere else. He's been a good Clipper soldier. He has 2 more years guaranteed @$3M per.

We already have Covington, who's also "a guy," and more useful. [And also with a less movable contract, 2 yr@$12M.] Even at a pathetic 3 ppg, he's done well enough so far to be looking over Mann's shoulder for that 5th starting spot. His plus/minus is right there, albeit against inferior competition. He's not hurting us out there.

Amir Coffey is just never going to win you a game. He's peaked as a Clipper. If you're going to sneak minutes to "a guy," it's gotta be Kobe Brown, who's 3 years younger, same height, and 30 lbs heavier.

If Clips win both ORL tonight and LAL b2b while super short handed, that puts them in great position with the days off to incorporate Harden, PJ, and the euro PF dude (who knows he might be decent, i'd give him some run). Tonight and tmw, should see Brown and Diabate given some run with the starters, since literally all 4 PFs ahead of them are all gone. Im still annoyed at losing KMJ, since it's nice to have actual athletic youth in the front court, but time to see if the LAC draft picks of the last 2 drafts will be worth a damn.

KMJ didn’t look that good imo in the minutes he got. Definitely a moveable piece. Kobe is a way better shooter & has all the basics to fill in right now.
I think I’m gonna reserve judgement on the trade to see how things work out. Trading Norm seems like the most obvious next move if & when possible

I am curious if KMJ vs. Kobe was ever on the table. I think the Clippers would probably prefer Kobe if they're at all optimistic about him (even if KMJ is better this year), as he is cost-controlled for a few years. He also should have a better 3 pointer, which will be pretty important for us.

Have a hard time seeing Leonard playing a b2b. Doubt we see Harden or Tucker tomorrow vs the Lakers either.

A b2b loss wouldn’t surprise me.

Short handed and I won’t be surprised if Brown and Miller ride the bench.

Zu and Powell still questionable?

With our depleted roster, this will be the Kobe Brown game for those that say our future is **** after giving up a first and two second round picks in the Harden deal.

What's wrong with Norm Powell? Sucks that Bones wont be coming off the bench to provide a spark, not sure how good of a fit he'll be with starters, guess we'll find out.

Some of the ugliest basketball I’ve seen them play.

With the too-cool-for-school non-leader Harden joining the taciturn Kawhi and the Fonzie wannabe Paul George, the Clippers are gonna still need the enthusiasm and positive energy of Russ and Mann. Bones, too. Indeed that's why the Sixers sphinx-like trio of Embiid, Harden and Tobias treasured PJ Tucker, who also lights up the stage with effort and energy.

Chemistry is going to be a big deal with this bunch, although not for the usual reasons. Our basketball IQ just took a big jump, but finding just the right energy level will be the trick.

13 points in the quarter. :noway:

Would rather invest in Miller than Coffey.

Just another Clippers pick-up team. It's more normal for us to have an abnormal lineup than a normal one. We're always flying blind.

Finished the quarter 4-for-22 but only down by 5. I think they're super-juiced with Beard and PJ in the house, on the brink of a new era rather than running it back with the same old. Kawhi, PG, Zu, and Russ are 0-16, lol.

Frankly this is more energy I've seen from the Clippers since the 2019 squad, before KL and PG even got here.

Oh, and BTW--I can't stand commentator Jim Jackson. Brian Sieman is a pleasant enough Clippers lifer, but Jackson isn't. He doesn't care who wins or loses. Then he starts talking irrelevant BS and only distracts Brian from the game.

And our radio guy, the GREAT Noah Eagle, is gone now too. Now a national NBC guy at only age 25. I knew we couldn't keep him.

Powell gets more respect from the refs than Leonard does.

Thank goodness that half is over. Not sure what Lue can say at the half. Good luck with that.

Leonard looks gassed. I’ll be stunned if he plays tomorrow.
