Forgot about Bam and Mobley. I'd swap mark for Bam for sure. I love Mobley but would have to give it a deeper think.

Probably a few others I would put on the list, but question. Who is Jackson? lol

Jaren Jackson the reigning DPoY, albeit underserved.

I’d also trade Mark for Chet, but I think Mark will end up being better than JJJ and Bam in the long run
It’s crazy how most of us wanted him and we got him with the 15th pick. Like what was Washington smoking passing him for another chucking guard.

I'd take him over Bam due to age. JJJ is close, but I'd probably take Mark over him too. JJJ is an unusually bad rebounder for a big. Worse than PJ is, considering he's 3 inches taller than PJ.

The Mark/Duren matchup will be interesting to watch over the years for sure. Both big centers and Duren obviously knows Charlotte had picks #13 and #15 and didn't want him, but wanted Williams instead.
I think both guys will end up having really nice careers as starting centers in this league but I do feel like Duren (still 19) has the higher overall ceiling and more mobility out there switching pick and rolls defensively.

It was first bad Mark's game in his career
, and mostly because of phantom calls and foul trouble- think about that.
I still prefer to have him over Duren. I completely disagree with above post, Mark is great in permitter D, Duren not only is weak on permiter but also doesn't protect paint. Not fan of his game at all.
Andre Drummond empty stats type of guy.

As someone who watched a ton of Drummond and a ton of Duren... Duren is lightyears ahead already.
Drummond was a guy who would steal rebounds from teammates, cared about his stats over winning, would pout if he didn't get FGAs, and rarely brought effort on the defensive side of the ball. Duren is a polar opposite and already a better screen setter, defender, passer, and teammate than Drummond ever was.

I'm watching Duren against Drummond and the Bulls right now and Duren's definitely much improved from last year. Especially on D. What a difference a good coach makes.

If Ivey can become the player the Pistons think he can become I firmly believe the Pistons can be ij the ECF in 2 years. That team is so loaded with talent it's stupid.

I was wrong on Duren, I had him as do not draft. His attitude and aggressiveness will make him a great player. And his defense is really good. Like a modern, more physical Kenneth Faried. We could have used him for sure

Not sure about Ivey, last night was the exception given he barely played against MIA and got pulled quick against the Bulls tonight. Rest of the team's a work-in-progress on offense, except maybe Livers all of the young guys are bricklayers from three. On defense however Monty's clearly earning his paycheck and so are guys like Hayes and Duren.

I like Mark because he's got size Duren doesn't but yeah Duren seems like a he's a foundational piece for them. If Mark keeps adding strength and also develops into a shooter he'll be the total package.

Mark Williams Is One Of The Best NBA Players The Casual Has Not Heard Of
Someone missed the memo last night...
Someone missed the memo last night...
When Al Horford was playing with a dormant Atlanta Hawks team, he was an exceptional defender, and he got no accolades to prove it. Once the Hawks improved and there were eyes on the prize, he started to reap what he had long been sowing. Check back in with this post after Williams makes the All-Defensive Third Team either this season or next, and remember that the groundwork was already there. You just may not have seen it yet.

Re: He Big Big: The Mark Williams Thread
Coach Clifford is an idiot. Cannot fathom why he went “small” and barely played Mark in the second half after his strong first half.
FORCE THEM TO DEFEND MARK WITH THEIR SMALL LINEUP.
Williams is a key part of this team going forward.
