Scottie is a top-20 player already. There, I said it.

He's also going to have a better season than Dame this year.

I want to see Doug Smith write a piece admitting he was wrong about this kid (but since Doug is wrong about almost everything he writes, he'd be writing apology pieces all year).

I am shocked that he no longer moves around like a 60 year old with a hip replacement. The improved conditioning has seemingly done wonders.

Masai is washed, but they should be planning for SGA's free agency in 2027. Hopefully Barnes elevates his game enough to entice him to join him here. Would need to be a consistent all-NBA level guy probably considering how stacked OKC already is and all the draft capital they have going forward.

I don't know how anyone bets against Scottie.

Our entire media was calling him a bust last season. You had more than a few posters on here saying we should trade him for 34 year-old KD or Dame because he already peaked at age 20.

Maybe I'm just naive or overly optimistic but Scottie's season last year didn't bug me in the slightest. The Raptors were dysfunctional. That **** bugged me.

Scottie's biggest mistake was exceeding expectations so much in year one.

tbf the 20 point game isn't that good and he for sure still has flaws (needs to get to the FT line more) however if he keeps up his shooting at the three point line he's basically turning unto a Kawhi version of a point forward/guard depending on how you view him.

He came in injured and was more raw, the league had a scouting report, no three point shot, FVV and Nurse.

It's no wonder it wasn't that great, he still needs to keep this up but Barnes adding a three point shot (a legit one) isn't something I really foresaw that could happen.

Also keep in mind both Tatum and Ja had worse efficiency in year 2 than in year 1.

To draw more free throws he's got to do a little more of that nba acting by throwing his hands in the air after he gets hit and really just sell it more like all them top NBA guys do.

5 games in and it looks like the hard work is paying off. From his shooting to his handle and overall approach to the game. Seen posts about FT attempts that will come as gets more seasoned. I think by year five we'll have a hell of a player on our hands.

I think he still doesn't realize how strong he is compared to other players. That is not a complaint though, because there is nothing any sane person can complain about through 5 games.

Of course there are things to clean up (TOs are too high) but he is arriving right before our eyes.

That's really not "hot" at all tbh, at least not imo. Soon as you seen in his rookie season what huge growth he made even from college, I thought it became quite apparent that he's a better prospect than both Bosh & DeMar were.

He may end up THE best.

VC was (half man, half) amazing but he only got us to the semis. I can see Scottie having the potential to take us further since his style of play also incorporates his teammates better, not to mention being far more versatile as a player as a rebounder & passer (those things matter too) & a great bball IQ.

Vince already passed him the torch with ROTY award.

Said it since his rookie year and even last "down" year, best player in his class.
