Re: Scoot Henderson
The most surprising thing I saw watching him last night is his inability to absorb contact on drives. We all saw those pictures of him looking diesel, but he might need more time in the weight room.

He just has no clue how to play against people that are in the same athletic stratosphere as him IMO. He needs to adjust alot of his game. He doesnt use angles when shooting at the rim b/c he is used to just finishing over people.

Teams should stop drafting guys who opts to play in Gleague that high. GLeague isnt developing these guys and makes it hard to scout for teams.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

He looks very average to me when looking at his build. Really feels like we have a Seventh Woods situation on our hands here. Also telling, immediately when he went down last night the Blazers rallied around Sharpe and proceeded to come back from 18 point deficit and win the game.
Praying for Burrow

I will say this, the big thing the G League had going for it was the fact that they were training and playing against grown men and pros.
But on the flip side, its not like the G League is known for its hard nose defense and team structure. Also its not like most college games players get the best physical test.
I wonder how long until NBL and other places like France and so on might start getting more and more high level high school recruits. You get to train and play against pros, but while also being in a legit team structure.

This was the argue last season, the G league has more raw talent but college is more competitive and the guys are playing for something as a collective group. The G league is a bunch of guys hoping to move up none of them really care about wins or losses there.Duke4life831 wrote:76ciology wrote:Teams should stop drafting guys who opts to play in Gleague that high. Yup. And the other thing with the G League when it first came out was the salary vs getting nothing from college. But the NCAA was smart enough to do the NIL thing. I was listening to CBS the other day talk about Flagg and theyre saying they think he could be making something around 3 mil next year in college.
So with that, I think college has jumped the G League to be the best domestic option for these guys. But I do think the NBL or if you can get a starting spot somewhere on a legit Europe team, those would be the best options if youre solely looking about the best development for that one year.

The people surrounding these kids don't give a damn about development. Getting the highest draft position or the most money is all that matters to them.

He is terrible.
He will probably never be this terrible again, but right now he’s hard to watch.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Re: Scoot Henderson
almost as much of a concern is that he's struggling to get shots inside the three point line which speaks to his lack of size. the much bigger guard, ausar thomspon by comparison, has only 19 out of 82 attempts from three. AT's 3pt rate is .232 where scoot's is almost double that at .402.
bottom line, you have two rookie guards who can't shoot the three, but one of them has the size to be a consistent threat in the paint where the other has to settle for shots he can't make. if i'm a blazer fan, i pray scoot figures out the shooting otherwise it's going to be a rough go. for pistons fans, even if ausar never does figure it out, because of his size, he can be an impact player in other ways on both ends of the floor regardless.

Scoot's never going to be a plus shooter. He shot a ton of mid range jumpers in the G League, and then shut it down at the end of the season so that he didn't get exposed further.

He has been like really bad. Cant shoot, cant finish, defense hasnt been a plus, turns the ball over a ton.
The only think that concerns me along term though is the shot. If he doesnt develop a decent 3 he is simply another Muiday / DSJ.

They’re probably keeping him out bc he’s been unplayable

He's trying too hard, like Bryce Young
Have to admit I was wrong, I wanted Scoot on draft night but whew he needs a ton of work and he wouldn't get minutes on the Hornets right now

Bryce Young has the worst collection of skill players around him in 25+ years. He gets a pass for the time being
Praying for Burrow
