Could be that he is not fully recovered. But why doesn't management then find some way to use the Fournier contract to bring in some depth behind Randle. I assume that they are holding on to Fournier to use in some massive deal. But if Mitch is going out and KAT is coming in, we're going to be one of the worst defensive teams in the league.

Last night I watched as the ball got kicked to a Cavs shooter in the corner, with Randle within a few feet of him, and Randle made no effort to even contest the shot.

When do they have to do something with Fournier or lose all their potential with him? :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

IMO the plan should be KAT and Randle while trading Mitch
One key problem with our offense is the combination of a) Mitch has no offensive game and b) randle can't make a quick lob pass.

If with either problem solved, we would increase our offense 10ppg.

By also giving up 15 more pts on the defensive end

If course that's the rub. Can KAT be an effective paint deterrent? It's possible.

Towns is a center. If you aren’t bringing him here with the intention of playing him as a center don’t even bother

The post saying “he’s a PF now” no he isn’t the Timberwolves made a terrible decision to trade for Gobert

Right now, Kat is shooting worse than Randle from deep this season. Kat is shooting 24% against Randle"s 26%

It’s 4 games

He’s in the 9th year in the league and career 40% from 3 on decently high volume, he’s one of the best shooting bigs the nba has ever seen, 4 games doesn’t negate that

For comparison Porzingis is 36% on his career on similar volume and considered an elite shooting big

Mitch and his offensive rebounding are way too important to this team. If you trade him for Kat you are signing on with team tank...and that might not be a bad thing. But seriously Randle and Towns together will make to want to scratch a chalk board

I'm all for the Randle/KAT swap. Depending on the rest of the pieces. I do agree though that KAT would need to primarily play 5, even if he starts at 4. One reservation I have though is liking both Mitch and iHart. The second is that it requires another trade for a 4, or making the MN trade bigger.

Also, any pro this trade needs to acknowledge that there will be a lot of complaints about KAT. He has warts and isn't perfect either.

Other than saying to expand the trade for Naz Reid, who do you see as a good fit in the front court with KAT and assuming RJ at 3?

I think Minnesota will bite the bullet and trade Gobert before they move KAT.

If they're on track to make the playoffs, I don't see how the Knicks get KAT for less than the Mitchell package. They'll ask for more than they're giving up.

If their season goes wrong though, then they might be more eager to deal him, which would then drive the price down.

And yes KAT is a center. He's not an impactful player at the 4, bringing him here to play the 4 is pointless.

You ever worn Skechers? I tried them once - felt like pillows on my feet. Maybe he can't play in them?

Shooting 3s as a center is easier than shooting as a forward because a lot of centers can not defend the perimeter...

Trade Randle, Fournier, DET+MIL 1st for Towns

Trade Robinson, IQ, WAS 1st for JJJ

Let JJJ protect the rim on defense and on offense both he and KAT stretch out the floor to the 3pt line.
