Major regression from Watson, Dillon, Runyan, Myers, Nijman, Stokes and probably others I am not even thinking of. The coaching staff needs to at minimum hold themselves accountable for such drastic regression. Injuries have surely been a part of it, but other than hitting on guys like Zac Tom, the entire offensive line looks much worse. Rodgers is part of that for sure, but there must have been other losses when Hackett left but we look incredibly poorly coached in all three phases this season
Is it really regression for Watson or did we get a little ahead of ourselves because of a good/flukey month of play last year.

Oline has definitely regressed across the board for some reason. Sucks

I’m not sure. But I’d feel a hell of a lot better if we had a Cobb and Mercedes Lewis in the WR and TE rooms. That **** matters IMO.

Keep tanking and keep collecting draft picks

Do a proper rebuild. Clean up the cap and start over.

Yea, that's how it works with literally every team in the league.

Yes, I'm the one with the "drafts are random after can't-miss prospects" take.

Which might indicate a player development issue, as it is statistically unlikely to whiff that much.

He isn't even close to the WRs that Rodgers trusted in the past, like Adams, Jordy, etc.
No volume WR at all, just some big plays (and drops) based on his speed, so he is like a WR3, maybe WR2 in a bad team.

I always find these comparisons interesting. With Stafford being out we might have a chance this week

Interesting the packs d ranks so low, goes with my theory that some of the other stats that show them as average or better are skewed because the Packers love of giving up long ass drives. Those keep scoring and yardage numbers down because they lessen the total possessions down.

Per play numbers like this match the eye test. For the amount of resources used in the d it's embarrassing.

Yea the Packers are sort of an interesting case. By raw numbers their Defense has been decent and their offense pretty bad, by more advanced metrics though their offense has been averageish and their defense has been really bad.

Don't see what's so surprising about it. Offense is 21st in points and the defense is 20th in points allowed. The defense is also dead last in the league in opponent time-of-possession-per-drive and average plays per-drive (the Joe Barry "death by a thousand papercuts" special). As much blame as the offense deserves, we're 4-3 right now if the defense could actually man up and make a crucial stop when we had 4th quarter leads against the Falcons and Broncos. They've been garbage.

Yea I for some reason thought we were lower in pure ppg. But you're right our offense is fairly stable (21st in ppg, 21st in DVOA, 15th in EPA/Play)

The Defense seems to be overperforming a bit(20th ppg, 28th DVOA, 24th EPA/Play)

Very tired of the argument that the offense is hurting the defense by not possessing the ball longer , and it is true to a degree , but the defense could actually maybe get few stops and get off the field too ! As you said " death by a thousand cuts" brutal to watch !

Updated DVOA:

Packers: 21st overall, 21st O, 22nd D, 28th ST

Opponents this year:

CHI: 29th
ATL: 25th
NO: 14th
DET: 4th
LV: 28th
DEN: 27th
MIN: 18th
LAR: 24th

Has to be one of if not easiest schedule in NFL so far. We play three top 8 defenses next 4 weeks, will get a much better feel for where the offense stands.

It's worth noting AJ Dillon has been in PFFs top 5 offensive players for the Packers for 4 straight weeks

Week 5 3rd
Week 7 4th
Week 8 3rd
Week 9 5th

Our ST doesn't look so bad this year, IMO, not sure how it's 28th.

Whelan has been really bad, Carlson started off great but has had a rough few weeks, and our return game coming into this week was the worst in the NFL(not sure how the long returns by Nixon & Reed effected things)

Our ST has been terrible this year

Well, Whelan is 14th in Yards/Avg and 14th in PFF in the whole NFL, so I'd say he has been average, not really bad.

I agree that our return game isn't getting many yards, but at least I don't see them doing stupid things like Amari and fumbling the ball every possesion.

As for Carlson, I am seeing he is getting worse in the past weeks, but I wouldn't say he is super bad. He is making the easy ones and missing the around 50yards field goals, so mediocre, IMO.

Whelan's net average is the 3rd lowest in the NFL. Now tbf that's certainly not all on Whelan, alot of that is on the coverage units too
