How on earth did you jump to that conclusion?

Multiple sauces within the program. Also it’s what programs use in theee situations as a reason for absence. But yes, it is due to substance abuse and lack of change after an. Earlier warning unfortunately.

Care to expound? Is this related to the moped accident? Likes the grass too much?

Yes, Yes. Recent dorm incident too.

I really dont care what he did with the booze or weed. We were all kids. Some of us even broke second chances. Give him a last wake up call.. and screw his head on straight. It can happen (i think).

Im not sure this is Gard's wheelhouse, dealing with players with issues. Hopefully they have support staff that is all over this and can right the ship with the kid. It's just a shame, almost every year we lose a prospect due to something not basketball related.

First off, if any or all of this is true, then hopefully he makes things right for himself, secondarily can get back on the court.

From purely a basketball standpoint again, I'm guessing random attrition like this is just something almost any program deals with. And for the Badgers - I think they missed King a little bit...but it has not mattered much. Lorne Bowman wasn't missed a ton...it sounds like Gus wasn't lighting the world on fire so far...if they are desperate to fill his role in a year or two, there's the transfer portal now.

Per a random Twitter reply I see he got an underage drinking ticket a few months ago (verifiable, FWIW). That in it of itself is probably nothing, merely a rite of passage, but it could be one issue in a consistent problem, if the sauces are to be believed.

And now I'm done with sleuth work on 19-year-olds.

Damn…maybe Jacobsen to Purdue now. Of course, Painter. We’ll see tomorrow.

The transfer portal stuff can potentially make up for recruiting misses more easily now so maybe not quite as big a deal as it used to be, but we've come up short on a few targets lately.

Kind of same old, same old if Jacobsen chooses otherwise today + finishing 2nd for Kon...

I will say with the portal and still getting Winter, who seems like an absolute steal - they're gonna have a nice little run here.

Jacobsen officially commits to Purdue after the reliable Buckyville insiders indicated earlier this week he was coming to UW. Kind of a shame as he seemed like he would be a good fit here from the highlights I saw. Looked a lot like an even taller and longer version of Crowl.

Boverim is nice to have over there. He definitely is plugged in but it’s also clear he gets one-sided info. I wouldn’t doubt in several of these the UW staff has been “lied” to (note: not in a malicious way, it’s recruiting). I still like reading what he has to offer and he’s not a dick about it like one of the other insiders.

I think they will still do well with the portal/being picky with recruits over the next few years. Things can change, but Crowl/Klesmit/Storr/Essegian/Chucky/Winter/Blackwell/maybe Gus is a nice group to have next year

For whatever it’s worth, esteemed Twitter recruiting expert Trilly Donovan and all of the recruiting guys on 247 and such had him to UW until some point yesterday. Usually you take a board “insider” with a grain of salt but the tea leaves seemed positive.

Boverim is a top 5 internet poster imo.

He's not always right but he usually is.

I appreciate the insight that boverim provides. He does it without being an abrasive douche as well.

I haven't been on Buckyville in ages because I find it to be the UW equivalent of the Goofer Hole and I just can't take it (note: I have no idea who boverism is and I trust y'all he's fine). I definitely wanted to land Jacobsen, but as long as we didn't I support that place having egg on its face whenever possible lol.

Some of the highest level of discourse happens at Buckyville.

Unfortunately it's dominated by twats.

That really doesn't bother me personally but I can see why it bothers a lot of people.
