I'll never forget Malik Beasley saying his goal for the 2021 season was All-Defensive team with Minnesota.

He legitimately got up on the podium and said that.

Gotta hand it to NBA players man. It's that delusion that gets em to the league in the first place

I wonder why the Grizzlies are so bad. Haven't they traditionally been decent when Morant missed matches?

I haven’t checked all the special courts. But that OKC one is not fun.

That's been my favorite one of the day so far

It is too hard for me to tell.

I will say these games are doing exactly as I had hoped. Turning an average NBA game night and game into slightly better. That's what we want as fans--more meaningful games--and we are getting them.

That Okc game was super fun. Warriors escape again, the bench balling again, they look good to start the season. Also, what an awesome finish.

Did you watch the game? OKC shot out of their minds, 60% FG 51.7 3PT%, led much of the second half including by 3 with a minute left, but the Warriors kept their poise and outscored them 8-3 in the final minute.

OKC was awesome, yet the Warriors pulled out the win. Great win.
If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

I'd say probably a better floor raiser, but less able to fit in with other talent. Depending on Horford's decay that second aspect might be moot, but it'll take some time before Wemby has the savvy of Horford.

A player who generates more value on defense than offense probably fits better than most imo.

Yep, this was one of those games where Shai being out didn't really matter because of how insanely the Thunder shot. They likely wouldn't have scored more with him in this game. The thunder on defense were making me scratch my head. They gave up like 5 open 3's on pick & pops to Saric, after the 1st couple they should've shut that down, they made no adjustments.

Over the past 2 seasons, The Grizzlies were winning the non-Morant+Adams minutes by ~5 points when JJJ and Bane were both on the court. So this season where they are just completely lost without Morant+Adams is pretty new

It's interesting how superstars and GMs keep trying to stack teams full of big-name players when it's largely shown to not work very well. Just stacking a whole bunch of marquee names makes for good First Take discourse but seldom leads to championships especially when said names have already passed their primes.

It's the lazy way out for a front office and coaching staff that stubbornly refuses to take the draft seriously, develop talent, or construct an actual team instead of a collection of players. Just put a bunch of 35-year-olds together and sell tickets to casual fans en route to a first-round exit. :noway:

Aren't all LAC fans casual?

Anyone who picks the Clippers of all teams looking for an easy casual experience is barking up the wrong tree.

Steph's assists are down (would be a career low) but his turnovers are still the same. Gotta clean that up and he's golden.

Thank you for the context and insight - adams was also missing j. Their playoff series wasn’t he?

Sample size.

He opened the season w a 1-assist game and has averaged 5 apg since. He also has a 7-turnover game.

He's fine.
