I would be more than happy to take "a poor man's Timelord" on a hypothetical minimum contract for 4 years, team option for the last 2-3 of those years. Let him learn from Horford on a daily basis. Keep Kornet for now and sign Queta to make sure we have plenty of big man backup through the playoffs.

This is notable since Davison, Knight, and Walsh are all on G-League assignment. Queta, who's also a two-way, has tagged along with the main squad.

I really hope Queta at least gets a legit shot to earn that third big spot this year. He looked good enough to do so in the preseason. If it's beyond him for this year, then bring in a vet minutes eater, but at least give him a try first.

Idk if he’s not playing just keep him with the big squad where there is more going on. The other guys can go down and benefit from it by getting on the floor.

It could also be just as simple as having better treatment if he's with the medical/training staff of the parent squad. But yes, no harm having him travelling with them and being around in practice and games.

Yeah if he's injured and can't play I wouldn't read into him with the parent squad vs. Maine. But it's encouraging I guess that he's injured (weird sentence) because that's a better reason for him not playing than them just thinking Kornet is better. Kornet is a pretty low hurdle to clear (figuratively, not literally) so I'm very hopeful Queta can at least sliiiiiiiiiiightly improve that spot,

Mine as well give Nathan Knight a chance and see what he can do in there, while Queta is still out..

Yo, I'd never seen Neemias be so quick on the court. I thought his foot speed would stop him from having a consistent role, but he looked like a legit NBA player out there. So happy for him and for you guys

He looked like a totally legit 3rd string center, which is good. One thing I found hilarious was how often he called for the ball. Every trip down the floor he raised his hand to get fed in the post while out there with Tatum, D White, etc. I thought he was good, but in my head was sort of saying "just hit the boards and be ready to catch a lob if you are left open, we're not running plays for you to get touches."

He wants the ball like he's prime Shaq lol.

Exactly! Got to appreciate he wants to make the most of his opportunity but also needs to understand his place in the pecking order.

Honestly, I'll take that over Kornet not being able to catch the ball anyway. Really appreciated his physicality. Missed some around the rim, but he was putting his body into guys and didn't pick up a ton of dumb fouls. Luke Kornet is a guard that had an unfortunate (fortunate for him) growth spurt.

Isn't that how some coaches teach it though? Not necessarily asking for the ball but it draws the attention of extra defenders. Even perimeter defenders thinking ball is gonna get thrown into the paint can create a small opening/advantage.
