This is why we had to trade him. Loved his effort but he thought he was the 3rd option on this team & it’s the exact reason why we weren’t going anywhere if we brought everyone back.

Yea, he really thought he was the 3 in the Big 3. Now we have a team of professionals and it's SO refreshing. Jrue and KP are just a breath of fresh air, true pros that respect the game and lead by example.

That's the perfect description of Jrue and KP.

No drama, just play basketball.

At least in previous years you got the DPOY candidate to go with all the drama surrounding Smart.

Last year all we got was flops & a limited offensive player doing more than he was capable of.

Smart, the gosh darn best Tanking Commander in the NBA and was outscored by Brogdon,
24 - 8.

Matisse Thybulle is shooting 100% from 2pt range so far this season.

But that's on 3 attempts total across 6 games. :) And he's 5-18 from 3.

Warriors-Thunder 141-139, with no OT
Blazers-Grizzlies 115-113, with an OT

Each of GS and OKC beat 30 points each quarter. And SGA wasn't playing.

Smart is averaging 15/6 on pretty good efficiency, with 3 steals a game. Maybe their issue is being down their best player and 3 or 4 other rotation players.

But yeah, let’s talk **** about a dude who played his ass off here for a decade.

Keep the faith, there's more glorious tank commanding in the works from Smart upcoming.
And Memphis still has JJJ, Bane, Kennard, Tillman... you think they would be a bit bet better?
I think as the Celtics current season goes on, we will find that Smart was one of the factors in
them not winning a championship.

So shouldn’t it reflect JJJ and Bane? Not their brand new player adjusting to a new system, and playing really well?

Rooting against Smart is a dog whistle.

And yet Bane and JJJ seem to be producing.
I was not a Smart fan and happy he was traded,
so I will revel in my schadenfreude a little bit longer.

So they are 0-6 because of their third best player? Whose averaging 15/6 on the best TS of his career? Is that not producing?

We all know why you’re not a Smart fan though, it’s okay.

Actually, getting bothered and calling things soft means you are in fact the sensitive softie. It’s always been the ironic part of all the crying about change. Ah well, that’s projection for ya.

Also, the reason wasn’t -insert word here-, it’s because bigfoot is an avid follower of 98.5 the sports hub, which is an extremely anti Smart radio station.

Dry those eyes, sweetie.

The Grizzlies looked bad last season once Adams went down and now you've removed Ja, Brooks, and Tyus Jones from the top 6. It's no mystery why they are struggling.

Yeah keep telling yourself that Mr. Charmin. You can spin and spin all day long but everyone knows what you meant. So take your “dog whistles” and go watch Marcus Smart help another team not live up to their potential.

Yet again, you’re coming off hella soft my man. Also really defensive, pretty telling lol. Peak 2023.

Nasty work. Hugs and kisses, though.

The simple fact that opposing teams intentionally leave Smart open at the 3pt line automatically puts your team at a disadvantage.

That's a game changer because it messes up the offense, it's like playing 4 vs. 5.

If Derrick White didn't make that buzzer beater to force a Game 7 against the Heat in Miami, every Celtic fan would be asking why was Smart taking the last shot in a win or go home Game 6.

Same thing happened in 2022, Game 7 in Miami.

Smart ended up taking the last shot and shot again until Miami got the rebound and Jimmy launched that potential game winning 3 that missed.

Draymond Green is like Smart, the heart and soul of GSW.
But Draymond rarely takes a last second shot to win or tie a game.
Draymond always tries to find a way to get the ball to Steph or Klay.

It just reached a point where Smart was starting to become a liability.

When the Celts were a lottery team trying to make the playoffs, Marcus Smart was great.

The margin for error is wider when you're still trying to be a legit contender.

But when you're already a contender and the goal is a championship, the margin for error becomes smaller and dumb plays and ill-advised shots would be the difference maker.

Vassell to miss a good amount of time with a groin injury. He was SA's 2nd best scorer after Wemby.

Smart took the shot in G6 because Jaylen instead of clearing out to the corner decided he needed to post up Bam and demand the ball.

I was pretty bullish on Memphis in the off season and thought they were being slept on. But agree not having a front court is a real killer.

Calling out Xavier Tillman as some sort of name to shout out like Steve A Smith is pretty hilarious. Anytime you can call on the carpet a second round pick with 40 career games started, gotta do it.
