One of the best players ever, I argue his past season was just as dominant if not more than Lebron ever had.

You can’t actually have Much better year than Jokic had...3 MVPs in a row capped by the FMVP and a ring...I dare anyone come at me with that Embiid BS - we all saw what Jokic did and we know who the real mvp was and is

What does the real MVP look like?

He’s tall...

Jokic just looks like he’s playing a different game than everyone else. He’s wholly unbothered by anything the other team throws at him, and he effortlessly does whatever he wants on nearly every possession. It’s incredible to watch. He was unstoppable yet again tonight.

Another unimpressive 33 14 and 9 for the joker

I truly think that Jokic maxed out his feel and brain for the game. He is at a point where he has maybe one bad game every two months, if even that. The ONLY way to even remotely slow him down is foul the crap out of him and hope that you will not get called for it. It's really out of the hands of the defenders, and only the refs can make an impact on him, or an injury. Nothing else works.

Barring injuries Jokic easily. It's a wrap.

Joker's in that stage where he should probably win MVP every year, it's just a matter of whether he wants it enough and what the other narratives are around the league.

7 defensive rebounds and 7 offensive rebounds, not ur everyday 14 boards haha :)
also 14-16 from the field, 2-2 from 3 in a hyped game against a good team
gotta love the Joker

I don't think ppl really appreciate what his stats would be if he was actively looking to put numbers across the board

those that watched Jokic closely these past couple of seasons know he's basically been coasting thus far this season (especially on D) and he will continue to do so as long as the Nuggets keep stringing wins together

not looking for his own numbers and not going as hard as he can will surely hurt his MVP chances but I agree with the poster above - since LBJ in Miami we haven't had such a drop off from the best player in the league to the 2nd best player in the league

Jokic is absolutely insane. We're watching one of the greatest players of all time.

Right now the MVP list looks like:

Luka
Embiid
Tatum
Record will 100% come into play.

Jokic is out of it at this point.

Buckle up, here we go again....

moderndarwin & eyatoma are going to obsessively try to convince everyone on here why Curry & Embiid will win MVP only to see Jokic run away with it this year

I think if you ask the league' s TV partners and all the talking heads they would prefer Tatum get it, if not this year but soon. The national media is practically begging for a North American star to ascend especially since the top young stars are all international, none of them play in NY, LA, CHI, and Lebron/Steph/Durant are getting up there. To them the prospect of Jokic dominating the league for the foreseeable future would be like if Tim Duncan went on a Jordan/Bulls type run and had no competition for the league's best player. Jokic is the nightmare scenario for a league's best player from a marketing and financial standpoint.

Tatum is young, American, a guard, one of the league's best players and plays for one of the league's premier franchises. If the Celtics are able to run away with the top seed in the East and possibly get the overall #1, I expect the campaign for Tatum to really pick up. The issue is Jokic's stats(analytical and basic) have always made him hard to ignore but now combine that with his team consistently being #2 or #1 every year makes him simply impossible to ignore.

i dont see it how that is the case. if you look at Curry, he is right now first in WS and BPM, 2nd in PER, has a better TS than Joker and his team ranked first in the West when warriors's 2nd/3rd best player in wiggins played the worst basketball in his life. If Warriors actually got 1st or 2nd in the West, Steph will have a pretty strong case 8-)

He does have a good case for now, but Jokic will be much more consistent, we already know that. Steph will likely need a Joker injury to win it and become the oldest MVP ever. It's gonna be extremely tough, and pretty unlikely (although obviously not impossible).

The narrative is strong with Steph here, the oldest MVP where he plays on the peak, the come back of warriors after a miserable season . Also he won MVP 7 years ago. These are all going for him. Sure Joker won the chips but that means nothing, MVP is a RS award.

I don’t see Steph continuing this kind of hot shooting, even as the greatest shooter of all-time.

But Jokic? Yeah this looks like any other walk in the park on a Sunday. He makes everything look so ridiculously easy it doesn’t make any sense.
