Nah.

You don't really mean that...
I was halfway joking but my logic was that at least with Poole it would be easier to convince him of a bench role and there would no way we would give him a lucrative extension.

Poole has already gotten his extension. After last night's game...you should be fully joking regarding Poole. :)

I've said this since his rookie year, that Young is a beyond exceptional playmaker. He's not physically/atheltically gifted compared to his NBA peers but the talent he does have is so exceptional that I feel you can still build a winner around him.

Trae is clearly amazing on offense (but not near Jokic or Lillard). He's just SO bad on defense that it makes it tough to build a team around him

True, Poole is erratic as it gets. But I was reffering to the year that Trae and Pooles contract ends. I'm definitely not comfortable giving Trae another max deal unless he rounds out his game and mentality in these next couple of years.

Hawks fans, is Murray being more important than Young these last games? Or just me box scoring watching?

Trae Young has more assists than any other NBA player this season, is leading a top-5 offense in the association and his team is top-3 in the East.

I haven't watched the games but just reading their forums and box scores Murray and JJ seem like their best players on this run they've been on. And although he is still shooting like garbage, Trae has been playing pretty decently by playmaking.

I think you can build with him but he can't be the guy. I would prefer him be the second or third option.

Give me Trae Young he a killa!

Atlanta needs to put some talent around him or trade him to a contender.

Trae aka the Mitten (move over GPJr) may get DPOY votes this year. 8-)

Mostly this but atleast you're honorable enough to admit it. Most here boxscore watch then pretend they analyzed all 48 minutes.

They're playing well because Qnin Snyder is actually running a system and everyone is bought in. They're more balanced. For example, NOP was running a double at Trae in the first half and, instead of going 1-on-3 like Nate used to want, he moves the ball so others had success. Then let the game come to him later.

On a related note, Jalen Johnson has been unleashed. He's a guy Nate Mc wasn't able to figure out how to use.

Edit: KG hit it mostly on the head, but here is what I'm seeing.

No, DJ is a piece to the puzzle. Last season he had full autonomy to take 24 foot jumpers, not so much under Synder. He's attacking the rim like I had envisioned during the trade, and aggressive at the point of attack on both ends. Looks like he's becoming more of a leader, the team chemistry is crazy rn but you know how that can change on a whim in today's NBA.

Trae is drawing the top defenders from every team, and they are mixing double teams to boot. If it isn't Mcdaniels one night it's Dyson Daniels and Herb Jones the next. He's learning how to make them pay under CQS. They've had 4 straight blown out wins. It's kinda scary how good they can get after it.

The Hawks have a certain kind of switch. Every team has one imo, but some teams the light only flickers when they turn it and for others fireworks go off. Hawks looks closer to the latter. Still early to tell what's what ya know.

Im his biggest hater, even I will admit he's started off pretty well, working a lot better with Murray and is not being completely **** on defence either

He is ridiculously underrated. Offensively he's special. Sucks ppl can't appreciate him and always try to vilify/marginalize him.

Kudos to you for actually paying attention. Meanwhile others in here parroting the same ol', lame ol' nonsense.

What would be a bad start if shooting 34% from the field and 28% from 3 is pretty well? And he's still a hole on defense.
It's like he didn't improve one bit since his second year in the league. I personally like the dude and his cockiness, but I don't know how I'd survive watching him play for a team I like. His shot selection is beyond atrocious, and young age can't be an excuse anymore.
I think he'd be much better as a 2nd option next to a big/forward.

You're not watching their games, clearly. It's fine but don't pretend you are.
