People are way too negative on Embiid. If the 76ers win ~55 games while losing their second best player he might get it

Maxey is the second best player and is playing at an All Star level.

The second Harden left, both Maxey and Tobias started looking like all-star players. Truthfully, maxey’s been phillys best player so far.

If everyone healthy and Boston wins 10 more games, we would assume Denver decided to throttle back and play for the playoffs instead of the regular season. No one thinks JT is better than Jokic-
If JT gets the MVP this would be an odd way to reward JT...even JT would know it’s unwarranted
It's not unwarranted. Nuggets have a team that can get the record as good as Boston. If Jokic wants another MVP, then push the team to be 1st in the West and around the same as the #1 team in the East and he'll get it.
This is the same as when people cry every time Lebron didn't win the MVP. Push your team to high enough record and if you're the best player/more impactful than then one you're going against, you're 100% certain to win it. If Nuggets and Boston have a similar amount of wins, Jokic will win it. I much prefer this way of awarding the trophy other then idiotic fooball popularity contest that revolves around in Europe (world).

Jokic's supporing cast is significantly weaker than Tatum's . It will take a lot more work from Jokic to push his team to 60 wins than it would for Tatum

How is my reply here any different from the original post?
We both mention 76ers fans but I get called out for it??
Don’t be a snitch.
Or at least do it in private

For some reason they really like putting JT's teammates on those lists. JB used to get in the top 10 a lot too from what I remember.

The MVP tracker is pretty unstable until 30 games in. The idea that Jokic is the clear frontrunner is obviously true though

It's because the bball-reference MVP award tracker model likes the Celtics' 100% winning percentage a lot.

I wouldn't think about it too hard, it's probably a pretty simple regression model being applied to stats from a sample size of five games.

It isn’t significantly weaker at all. Some of you flat out don’t watch basketball or just look at names.

Murray=Brown
Gordon=White

How is Celtics significantly better in supporting cast

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

Celtics also have Al Horford who is good enough to be a starter on any other team

I was thinking of it as a general note/reminder to the thread when I blue-fonted your post the other day. You did not receive any official warning or strike or anything so no biggie. Wolfgang is hereby reminded as well if it makes you feel better.

I don't disagree with you necessarily. Both teams have pretty clearly the 2 starting 5's in the NBA.
The Celtics have a more proven bench though. The Nuggets bench doesnt have anyone proven on it like Horford.

I don't understand why Curry is lower than George. He has more points, rebounds and assists per game, with better eFG and team record. Yes, he also has more TOs and fewer steals, but still...

Brown has never come to being remotely close to as good as Murray has been in both of their playoff runs. Gordon is also a much better player than White. His team now that they retooled is elite. Maybe Boston's is a little better but considering Jokic is a significantly better player than Tatum, there's no excuse not to be as good.
You know.. if he's as good as people on here want him to be.

Horford is near 40 averaging 5 ppg on 41%. That’s how i know y’all don’t watch the Cs lol. The team has always started and stopped with JT and JB no matter who is in the supporting cast.
