I legit love the 2021 draft class. Look at these guys now:

[Pts/Rebs/Asts Stl/Blk]
1. Cade Cunningham 23/3/7 0.6/0.3
2. Evan Mobley 15/12/3 0.7/2.3
3. Jalen Green 17/4/3 0.6/0.4
4. Scottie Barnes 23/10/6 1.1/2.1
5. Jalen Suggs 10/6/3 1.8/0.7
6. Josh Giddey 14/6/4 0.5/0.3
8. Franz Wagner 20/6/3 1.5/0.5
6. Alperin Sengun 18/9/6 1/0.2

27. Cam Thomas 26/4/2 1/0.2

Scottie and Cade lead the class, with Scottie getting an edge because of the defense and his new found outside shooting. Honestly, if Scottie can keep up this play he is a monster. He is like a healthy Kawhi or the forward-version of Shaq or something.

Sengun is basically D.Sabonis level now. Some of his passes are Jokic-like. Size holds him back from being all-NBA level, but he is a very smart, crafty player.

Giddey and Green have had declines so far this year. Giddey has played well, but he has a very stacked team and with Chet, I think the ball is just not going to be in his hands as much. Green has had some low shooting games as the offense focuses around FVV. I saw that FVV shot 23 times last Saturday, so it has been that kind of start.

I have to shout out Cam Thomas. Probably the biggest success story in the class considering from where he was drafted at. He is a guy I think would pair well with Scottie. Not sure how we can get him, but it likely would mean trading Siakam and taking back Simmons.

Preach. I've been saying this for a while now. He's a legit NBA player but nothing special at all SO FAR, in my my humble opinion. And certainly not someone that should have been the #1 pick. He's just chucking away over there in Detroit and Monty won't reign him in. It's a disaster so far this season.

TS% this season:

Scottie: 61%
Franz: 51%
Cade: 51%

Franz was at 59% last year though, but Cade has always been an inefficient chucker.

The things that made me scared about Scottie was his inability to play starter minutes. To me it was clear given what he did in college. He wasn't used to it. Also the fact that he thought he had to play point guard to be the best version of himself. Seeing him accept Dennis in his role and dominating from from any position on the court is all I want to see.

Scottie is turning into Charles Barkley with defense. He's the superstar in the making I have been missing since Sir Charles left.

Scottie says "Woof"

We have our Alpha and this time that man loves Toronto.

The future is bright with him and Darko. Masai and Bobby just need to focus on surrounding them with what they need to thrive.

Go Raptors Go!

He’s this weird Charles Barkley/Scottie Pippen hybrid. Incredible player attributes. He does everything.

That is a better comp. He has facets of both plus his own personality.

I am rooting for him to become a superstar in this league. I know other folks on this board are too.

Scottie has a mixture of Magic, Kawhi, Barkley and some Giannis.

Too many stats being pulled too early in the season lol. These numbers aren't sustainable

His usage at 25% is still fairly low, it has to be 30% or above

Is there anyone who really wouldn't want Barnes to be the biggest star possible?

Franz is a German Evan Fournier. I don't see much more growth from him, just a solid starter and can't be a top 3 option on a title team. Even for his supposedly good season last year, his metrics were incredibly mid.

Scottie is several tiers better than anyone else in his draft, and the metrics reflect that.

Scottie is 76th percentile as a PnR Ball handler

Schroder 35th percentile (lots of turnovers to Poeltl)

Siakam 1st percentile  :noway:

Go read some of the trade threads from this summer. Or any of the FVV threads.

The way he's putting up these numbers is impressive. It's all within the flow of the offense and not force fed/stat padding like FVV or Siakam from past seasons

I don't think you can extrapolate them quite yet, but ignoring his actual numbers, his mechanics, the way he's been moving, the way he attacks, are still night and day from last year.

I would be utterly shocked to see him not rest around the mid 30's for 3p% by year end.

If I wasn't a mod I would definitely call him out. He'll show his face the second Scottie has a bad game, book it.

Right, 42% from 3 for the whole year would be great but I just don't expect it. Something like 38% percent? I definitely think that's sustainable given his new shot mechanics and confidence. Given his efficiency I don't think he's shooting enough, and it's not like the team doesn't need it, they very much do.
