Amazing win! Only downside is a lot of the talk will be about how bad KAT was. Don't let that take the lead, this game was about the Timberwolves breaking through to become a good team. This is a SIGNATURE win. This is what you need to do to get to where we want to be. Took out undefeated Denver, took out undefeated Boston. Incredible.

Ant getting the ball to McDaniels was so good, when you could see Ant tiring.

Signature win. Beat DEN, MIA, and BOS to start the season. Maybe national media was right, Towns/Gobert doesn't work but because Towns sucks. He needs to stay cool and figure it out. We need him for the remainder of the season.

Ant and Mike take the lead on OT. Nice to see. Great win. Fantastic defense from the team. Rudy was huge but he really have a bad FT night. KAT is.......KAT.

I wonder if we can use Towns to win the games against average opponents, and Ant for the big pager games?
For average opponents, Towns has less stray voltage, and Ant sometimes takes those games off. Then Ant dominated the key games, when KAT gets too excited?

There’s a weird dynamic where Towns is so important to what Minnesota does against Denver, that I’m not sure you can move him. I just don’t know what happened to his shooting ability, it has to come back at some point.

Games usually come down to your super stars. It was Ant and MC'D! McD was clutch.

This one got to be a top 5 best Wolves win. Maybe the second best regular season win besides beating MJ in Target center?

I don't want to turn this amazing victory into a Towns discussion, this game was bigger than that, but I really don't think it doesn't work, I think we have shown it can. Towns' defense has been good and we just beat the best team in the NBA with what might be the worst game of Towns' career. Towns will absolutely play better than this for 90 percent of the rest of the games, this was a disaster game for him and we still won. He played horrendously on offense and was a net negative, yet he still showed up on defense. That is a major positive.
Look at this game and imagine how it would have went if Towns was average? Conversely, this should also show you that what we are building is sustainable without Towns if it does come to that. Either way, this was one of the best wins we have ever earned.

Nice win for you guys! I've enjoyed watching your team (mostly) this year. Jazz are dookie, so having a good team to root for is my only saving grace so far this season. (Also I'm rooting for Rudy).
Ant has been amazing on this ends this year, and I love your teams defense. Must be so nice for Rudy to not be the only guy on a team that plays defense now.
Hope you guys continue your upward trend.

So .. this was the NBA’s #1 offense?
(I couldn’t resist, after reading the BOS board giving MIN no credit and blaming the refs)

I think there is a legitimate argument to make that this was the worst offensive performance of his career. I don't think we will see it be this bad again.

I wonder what % of big games (playoffs, top teams in regular season) has KAT come through in
I would guess its about 20% in his career

Wolves win and I still think they could of played much better. They were in the verge of a blowout before kat got them back into it

That's the thing though, this is what he does in big games. He's a supermax player, and it's at the point where you just don't want him to do something stupid, much less carry you

Those of you who want the National media to talk about us more, well, I think this game will force their hand. Unfortunately a big part of that story is going to be talking about how awful Towns was. Still, they can't deny Ant.

Re: Game 6 Celtics and Timberwolves 11/6 7PM
Ant and Jaden are the future. As great as their offense was, defense was even more impressive against 2 great scorers.
Great defense from Rudy but him getting the FT Yips not a good thing. Hopefully only a one game thing.
KAT. Terrible awful game, more dumb fouls and awful turnovers.
One of the best defenders in the NBA in Holiday was making him look like a fool and made Karl completely lose his composure.
I don't see how he's still on the roster next year unless he really starts turning it around.
We can get the same and better offensive efficiency from Naz Reid without all the bad stuff.
Boston has a really thin bench, it's a real weakness for them.
It seems like we lose every single long rebound on the defensive end.
Huge win. This will hopefully give the team a lot of confidence, but not overconfidence.
I haven't seen this level of defensive intensity from a Wolves team since the prime KG era.

Yeah, maybe.
He was horrible in the Memphis series in 2022. He was bad in the playoffs in 2018.
He was good against Denver in game 82 in 2018.
He was horrible against the Clippers in the Play-In in 2022 (3-11, fouled out).
But yeah, the theory is Towns is something I have grasped for a while. However, the issue now is he isn't the same unicorn at PF as he was Center. At Center, Towns drew the Porzingis/Jokic/Gobert/Embiid, ect out of the paint. As a PF, the team just puts their shot blocker on Gobert, puts a strong wing on Towns and makes Towns try to beat the smaller man [He never does].
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
