Re: Official NBA General Discussion 2022-23 V5.0
Cam Thomas still looks like the greatest scorer the NBA has ever seen.
The scoring in the NBA is still ridiculous this year. I predicted a team will break the record for most points in a game last year and it almost happened with the Clippers and Kings but it will for sure happen this year. Someone is also dropping 80+ points real soon.

He's just a shooter who got hot. He didn't really show anything special in terms of shot creating ability. GTJ has gone off for 30+, even 40+, multiple times in his career. It means nothing.

Embiid is the most annoying player to watch. Nick nurse must love having s plsyer that the nba gifts points To. Dream come true.

still very early in the season though. I don't think either are these good of a shooter.
Edwards averaged 30 in the playoffs against the best team. He’s already made the leap, just needs to continue getting better and smarter with the ball in his hands.
What he needs is a better running mate than KAT, been past time to trade him.

KAT had such terrible body language in this game. Bumbling rebounds in the clutch and dumb fouls, Just not a winner imo

Cade just looks so underwhelming to me. Bad teams just seem to constantly make bad decisions. Pistons and Rockets picking Cade and Green with Mobley and Scottie on the board. Not only is Scottie looking like the best player from that draft but he’s got the most potential as well. Can’t imagine how bad this team would be looking had we drafted Suggs.
21 points on 18 shots last night. So I went over to NBA.com to see who leads the league in FGA. I already suspected it would be Cade and sure enough, it's him. Why the hell did they hire Monty at 12M per? They could have easily just hired a rookie coach for 3-4M per season to let Cade bomb away. Like you said, some bad teams just continue to make bad decisions.
And am I remembering wrong or wasn't he listed at 6'7"-6'8" going into the draft? The reason I remember this is because when I saw him on draft night on stage, I thought to myself that this kid is definitely not 6'8". I see he's now listed as 6'6", which may even still be a slight exaggeration.
Hate to rag on the kid as it's not his fault he was drafted 1st overall, but man....I just don't see it with him.

He hit some high difficulty shots in a mariad of ways. He displayed long range, off balance, quick release, up fake side step, and good decisions offensively. To do all that against a great team on the road at the age of 21 in your 7th NBA game is definitely not "nothing".

so my pick Jordan Hawkins came through last night ..I am going to trust Masai here, but ......I just thought his shooting style was going to put a lot more pressure on defenses than Gradey's.
It would be unfortunate if he turns out like the Next Jesus Shuttleworth.

That game is likely an outlier but he is a legit player in the league. If I'm the Pelicans, I try and rope someone like the Knicks into giving up a nice package for Zion. They have some good young pieces already in place with Murphy, Daniels, Jones and now Hawkins. They can set themselves up nicely for the next half-decade by trading Zion while they still can.

actually yeah. Antman is very good. He is in a bad situation though, Wolves wasted their assets on Gobert.

He mostly hit open catch and shoot threes.
That being said, his shot looks like Lowrys

Getting yourself open on/off the ball is a skill. And I would not call many of those shots "open".... many were at the very least semi-contested.

Anthony Black has been impressive in the early going here. Orlando needs to make a trade. This was my #1 target for Raps in back end of lottery but he moved up the rankings after halfway through. Too bad, his BBIQ and defense are well above average. His 3 pt shot is falling so far. If its decent, he will be a star in the league because he can get to the rim and draw fouls with the best of them.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Fits what I’ve been seeing, which is that our competition level has been higher than we realize. We haven’t played a bad team yet. We’ve caught the Bucks during a time they’ll be weak, and Philly looks like the third best team in the league to me so far. Portland is executing at a high level and are far from an easy victory. Chicago…well, I don’t rate them highly and we gave that one away. Otherwise, we have had some tough matchups, which I think will benefit us as we hit the winter and the schedule softens up.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive
