Supposedly it's more about the decision to either leave their small kids in LA where they're currently going to school or relocate them to Philly than it is his wife personally. Either way, I'm sure they'll all be ok when all is said and done. #BallerLife

This is why Harden doesnt have kids.

Just leave them in LA and work out a crazy travel schedule with your family and the team. You won't be in Philly long.

Since his wife is against Philly, and you can’t really blame her as it relates to weather and lifestyle… just flip him somewhere else and let that team waive him.

There always has to be a Danny Granger/Andrei Kirilenko/Alec Burks/Glenn Robinson Jr situation.

If the guy is too whipped by his wife to fulfill his contractual obligations, that’s fine with me. We don’t need nor want his washed ass anyway. His remaining existence in the NBA is nothing more than salary ballast for trade.

I do find it kind of weird that his wife said the team traded him without warning, comparing his situation to Jrue Holiday. Batum has been in trade rumors for like 6 months because of this Harden situation. I have no idea how they could’ve been caught by surprise.

I don't get the big deal. The family can stay where they're at and Batum can just rent an apartment in the city for 8 months until the end of the season and then retire or sign for team in Southern California in the summer.

Report to your damn obligation, man.

I think this is overblown by the media. From his Twitter post, Batum didn’t seem too upset with either the Clippers org or coming to Philly.

I feel like it’s not even the media it was more just people on Twitter and stuff assumed things without actually looking into it. He was at practice in Camden already. They probably just gave him the weekend to handle family stuff. Morris and Covington know the city already and Martin is a kid so it probably wasn’t as much of an issue for them.

He's supposedly back and expected to be available vs. Wizards...

I'm curious if he has enough left in the tank to start. Not right away, but after he gets acclimated. His ability as a connector on offense could be useful.

Surprised at the minutes Batum has played. Being the bench player who has played the most, ahead of Covington, KJ Martin, House.

Had no idea his trigger was this quick, a really effortless shooting motion. His off-ball movement to get free shots in indicative of his BBIQ, quite convinced that he'll be an important part of the rotation this year.

Yeah he looked really good last night, even besides nailing those 3's. Quick trigger shooting, moving without the ball, competing on defense and we already know he's a good passer and distributor.

I see big mins for him going forward. Quite frankly we have too much depth as we can play 13 guys.

He’s better than RoCo at this stage.

Great first night for Nic. His shot looks like it’s going in every time-which it pretty much did last night.

So glad I don’t have to watch PJ finally take an undecided corner three and miss it. It’ll be fun to see how bad the Clips will be with him and that other guy. Name escapes me.

Didn't realize how steady his recent shooting has been. Had 3 full seasons on LAC hitting about 40% of his 3s on nice volume (6.5 shots per 36, with 2.5 makes). Sweet.

He absolutely is old man steady.... and he can still compete. He'll fill that reserve forward spot beautifully.

Batum looks like the 5th starter going forward, after he gets fully acclimated.

He also looks a little bit like Al Horford coincidentally. That old man game works.
