But Bamba is badddd all around.
I'm going to continue to reserve judgement on Bamba. His stats have consistently (i.e. for 5 years) said he's been an average center in the NBA. Even if he looks lost and makes bad plays, his length is so elite that he ends up with more than his share of blocks and rebounds even if just by accident, and he probably bothers or deters a lot of shots, too. Not to the extent of Wemby or Manute Bol, but apparently enough that his stats have been perfectly fine (not great, just 'average'). This year he hasn't played enough to have numbers that mean anything yet, but if he did get 15mpg, I'd expect his numbers to look like they have for the past 5 years. Maybe a bit better because at age 25 he's entering what should be his basketball-playing peak. Even if his highlight reel ends up being an ugly lowlight reel, if his minutes lead to winning because of hard-to-measure effects that are hard to see on film... sign me up. To be fair - his stats this year do indeed suck a lot, but he hasn't had enough minutes for the stats to mean anything yet.

Dame doesn't play D, people predicting them going all the way this year will be disappointed.

You gotta stop this lame crap. Most times folks criticize Joel it’s been warranted, save for a troll here or there. You won’t be happy until he gets a free pass on everything simply for being Joel Embiid.
always a jump shot away.

The problem is offense because defensively thats what they signed up for. They were expecting Dame to make up for it on offense.
To max out Giannis and Dame, you need a very duo centric offense. Kind of like how we did last season.
Seems to me AG wants them to pass the ball when defense would collapse, and this lead to a lot of shots for MID players then it also takes away rhythm for Giannis and Dame where they becomes more passive than aggressive on offense. Until crunch time, where they would go dame time while Giannis would also take his defense up a notch.
Overall, I think Bucks made the trade because Middleton’s health is in question. So they need a close down the stretch, which Jrue cant provide. But Dame is too steep of the price to pay with all the picks and sacrifice on defense.
I dont know. Maybe they can turn it around

Its not a W for us if we have to trade Tobi and picks for guys like Siakam, Grant or OG. Seems like Tobi is in the same stratosphere with them.

He’s a lazy big. He doesnt do his prep before going for rebounds and blocks, like trying to jockey for position. He just wants to jump and grab the ball or swat it.
He’s the opposite of Paul Reed or Andre Drummond. both lacks in size so both knows they have to work harder and be faster than the other guy.

Definitely. Which is why they need to make a trade this season and keep Tobi and maybe Melton if you can get them on tradable deals

For me the play is to have Tobi, Oubre, trade 1 and trade 2 players this season. Then cross my fingers that they all buy into the system and we be able to sign all of them and Maxey in the offseason.
Once we have depth, we dont have to be at the mercy of their inconsistency on offense. Hopefully we can still save some picks for some ammo for trades down the road.

It's way too early to tell for sure, but I hated the trade for them when it happened. Jrue fit them like a glove, while Lillard breaks up one of, if not their greatest strength, that lock-down defense.

Great win, even if it's the Wizards - taking care of business against bad teams is what good teams should always do. Joel was a monster, and Maxey is looking more and more like the complete stud that can be that "#2 star" everyone talks about. We're going to learn a lot from the Boston game.

I prefer Tobias over those guys. The guys is severely underrated around here.

If Morey does it right, we can grab two guys this season that add wing defense and shooting and more ball handling and offense creation, then re-sign at least one of Tobi and Melton this summer and keep a bit of powder dry for making that last addition next year. I am not of the hunt a superstar mindset, but grab two critical pieces that fit and build a deep and versatile team like Denver has.

Someone should not be happy to beat bad teams but, even in recent years, our point differential has never been that impressive and we got close wins against bad teams, so seeing finally a team that gets early ahead and basically coast for 2/3 quarters is improvement.
We have beaten really bad teams and the corpse of the Suns, schedule is gonna tell us a lot more about the team in the coming weeks, we play Boston and Indiana 2 times each, Nets, Cavs and then go on a west trip. So encouraging signs but still early to tell

Yeah, he's looked lost on offense (and not just tonight). I'm not sure if he's a second contract player or a player that doesn't get a second contract in the league. The defense is intriguing but that's not enough for a guy his size.
He is not skilled enough for a guard. He plays like a 6'3 PF. He should be following Maxey and Embiid in the summer to Drew Hanlens camps. I don't know who he works with but his skillset is not developing well enough.
He's stronger and more explosive , but his ball handling and shooting should be the main target. I think at his highest ceiling he could be a down-hill guard but right now he's not good enough to be on the ball. Right now his ceiling Gary Payton Jr where the sixers need it to be more Bruce Brown/Caleb Martin...

Maybe overly observant, but I was watching the bench for the new guys body language and while all the guys were clapping or cheering he would mostly sit there with his hand on his chin. Like he was bored or wasn't impressed lol. I blew it off as me being a weirdo and overthinking...

I assume you mean Gary Payton II. Gary Payton Jr didn't make the league, and maybe didn't even play basketball.

I think he has made leaps in those areas, his starting off point was just so much lower than a typical guard prospect.
Hopefully Nurse continues to give some run to see if he can work some things out, but I won't blame him if he doesn't.
Beyond just the skill component, he just looks really unsure of himself on the offensive end at the moment.
I dunno, he feels like Zhaire Smith minus the allergies at this point to me.
