Cade just looks so underwhelming to me. Bad teams just seem to constantly make bad decisions. Pistons and Rockets picking Cade and Green with Mobley and Scottie on the board. Not only is Scottie looking like the best player from that draft but he’s got the most potential as well. Can’t imagine how bad this team would be looking had we drafted Suggs.

21 points on 18 shots last night. So I went over to NBA.com to see who leads the league in FGA. I already suspected it would be Cade and sure enough, it's him. Why the hell did they hire Monty at 12M per? They could have easily just hired a rookie coach for 3-4M per season to let Cade bomb away. Like you said, some bad teams just continue to make bad decisions.

And am I remembering wrong or wasn't he listed at 6'7"-6'8" going into the draft? The reason I remember this is because when I saw him on draft night on stage, I thought to myself that this kid is definitely not 6'8". I see he's now listed as 6'6", which may even still be a slight exaggeration.

Hate to rag on the kid as it's not his fault he was drafted 1st overall, but man....I just don't see it with him.

What made the Monty hire really weird for me is that they had already made this hire and it didn't work. His name was Dwane Casey.

Lakers complaining to NBA about missed foul calls vs Miami. Has MLSE ever done this recently? I don't recall them doing much ever in this regard.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Denver, Boston, OKC and Indiana are the 4 best teams in the NBA.

I really hope Gradey Dick works out but early returns are incredibly bad. He had one good game but 24% from three and .359 EFG% is brutal. He has to be the worst player we give minutes to and now that Porter is back, I wonder if Dick's minutes shrink.

I mentioned Julian Strawther a few times and he is really producing for Denver as a shooter. He scored 21 and practically won the game for Denver last night:

What I liked about Stawther coming in:

Big game shooting - in college he proved that over and over
Deep beyond NBA range - he was one of the leaders in college shooting from past the NBA three point line
In between game - can go to a push shot and attack the basket despite not being ultra athletic

Right now Gradey is running like a chicken with his head cut off and missing some easy threes. Honestly, I hope he gets some G-League time to play big minutes to get over his nerves and get used to game speed.

No Philly seems strange considering they have the current league MVP and have only lost once.

Minny has the league's best defense and beat several good teams including Boston and Philly.

Indiana is a fun team with an explosive offense but Jalen Smith is leading the league in 3P%. That will come down. They are all way to hot.

I love OKC. There is something there but it will take time to become a contending team.

good idea

probably will give 7 minutes between picks for 1st round = 3.5hrs for day 1

and 5min between picks for 2nd round = 2.5 hr day 2

What happened to the TWO thread?

Anyways, does anyone watch Wemby and wish we had tanked to at least have a real shot. Imagine how hype it would have been.

Hmm, I'm good with the one day format as it feels more chaotic. It's a short window of time and teams may succumb to a draft day pick or deal that they might not otherwise do. I also think having a day in between would lead to too much information exchange. I can imagine all the videos for second round sleepers that would pop up. I know the other sports leagues have multi-day drafts, but they're also longer drafts.

The scoring in the NBA is still ridiculous this year. I predicted a team will break the record for most points in a game last year and it almost happened with the Clippers and Kings but it will for sure happen this year. Someone is also dropping 80+ points real soon.

I wonder if the switch from Spalding to Wilson balls at the start of the 21-22 season have had any noticeable impact. I know at the recreational level, everyone always vastly preferred the Wilson balls. It obviously hasn't been as disruptive a transition as that old switcheroo back in 06-07 though.

I remember Lebron looking like a big fast giant during his prime years. Nowadays he just looks like everyone has the same height and body as him.

Looks like Bill Kennedy needs a drug test. He looks like he’s been in touch with Lebron’s guy in Miami.

Mods won't allow it to open until 20 games are played. Even if the Raps go 20-0, I would still want the Raps to tank.
