JJ seems to been a blessing in disguise for the Hawks. So far, a better upgrade over Collins as you stated. He even added a couple of elements that Collins himself didn't possessed. That is playmaking and better defensive intangibles. Definitely need to watch for this guy.

John Collins was overrated on defense.

JJ's passing ability is what has helped make them such a threat offensively. With John Collins, their front court was 3 players who are poor passers. JJ has allowed their offense to become so much more versatile.
