It's time to turn the page on Fultz.

Post#1 » by fateis007 » Fri Nov 10, 2023 5:23 am

I have been holding back, because i really wanted him to work out, and even supporting him.

But it's time to turn the page. He just doesn't look good and im positive his shoulder will never heal. His shot just looks horrendous and he is causing so many spacing issues.

He is literally throwing push shots at the free throw line now. I noticed when he air balled that free throw right before he had "knee" soreness.

He is never going to be able to get a respectable 3 point shot, its been 7 years. His shoulder is shot sadly, and no "off season" normal shot footage is going to change that.

I am not saying AB needs to take his spot, but man have we ever needed a floor general that can space the floor for p5 and Franz

Markelle didn't lose the game for us. Actually down 1 last 30 secs to go, I'd rather put the ball on Fultz hand to make a play.

Markelle is 5 for 12 tonight with 3 FTs. He did OKay.

Oh he didn't lose us the game. Paolo did easily, and he lost us the last game.

But it's time to accept Markelle has completely lost the ability to hit a shot. He honestly looks very struggled to get a lift with his shoulder and take a shot and the TOS is effecting him still.

he is shooting 0 percent from 3. He hasn't even hit a single three point shot this year.

Think about that for a second, in todays game, our starting pointguard hasnt hit a 3. He is a smaller Ben Simmons.

Anyone guarding him is allowed to collapse on Paolo/Franz/Suggs

Taking on other team's failed projects almost never work out, and they sure damn well don't turn into star players.

Investing energy into Fultz is just wasted developmental time.

Trade Idea

Orlando gets: Monte Morris & Joe Harris

Pistons gets: Markelle Fultz, Chuma Okeke, Houston & a 2nd Rd Pick

Monte Morris has shot 38.8% from 3 past 3 seasons. 5.3:1 AST/TO ratio last season.

Joe Harris is a 3 pt sharpshooter.

Orlando Rotation:

PG: Morris, Black
SG: Suggs, Cole Anthony/Gary Harris
SF: Franz, Joe Harris
PF: Paolo, Isaac
C: WCJ, Mo/Goga

He's still being given a chance because of where he was drafted. If he was a mid to late 1st round pick it's likely his career would be over by now, at least his NBA career. At the very minimum he'd be coming off the bench playing 12 mins or so a game. He just doesn't do anything at an elite level, and does several things very poorly.

True he is not hurting the magic but he isn’t help either. There are guys out there who can shoot the three and help the magic.

One could argue that Fultz defense was pretty terrible this game. But to me the bigger issue is really just the elephant in the room. Dude can not buy a bucket. Last year it seemed his shoulder was healed enough to atleast have a mid range and take the occasional 3. But now he just looks labored overall, and his mid range is gone also. He doesnt gets to the line often, so he isn't some sort of Derozan type of player. His offense is just a absolute mess when he's not pushing it down the floor.

Paolo and Franz are not playing stellar. But it must be super hard to create, when your point guard makes the game 4 vs 5, and both your guards average 30% and 0% from the outside.

Look beyond the stats.

The last play of the game, not only is Fultz *not* in the right spot (he's gotta be planted in the deep corner for a potential kick out), but his man Murray literally doesn't even defend him at all because he has zero fear of Fultz actually beating him with a jumper.

Without that fear, Murray is able to easily step into Franz's path on the help and force a tougher passer backwards (that Murray even tipped because of how far off Fultz he was able to play) to Paolo instead of an easier pass sideways into the corner.

I mostly just want to see Paolo/Franz/Suggs/Black being the guys to call the plays down the stretch and they seem ready. We’ll lose some games from it but the development will be worthwhile.

Send him to Washington for Kispert and filler. Throw in the Denver pick to get it done.

I'm starting to think the FO doesn't care about making the playoffs this year so I doubt they'll make any big decisions. They did drafted AB so it looks like Fultz days might be limited, but not until the summer probably.

He may not fit with paolo too well.....maybe i'm wrong....to me i may be wrong but paolo just looks better initiating with the ball in his hands.....and if that's the case then what is fultz doing? standing in the corner to NOT shoot? and i notice that fultz barely even cuts off ball....or gets to the line.....as a lead guard in TODAY'S NBA? that's tough to overcome....for fultz starting to be effective we would need ray allen or prime klay next to him...but they're not walking through that door

The fact that Fultz is not even an option, and turns that last play into a 4 vs 5, really is a problem that just wont go away. I think it's likely just his TOS is reoccuring. He seems like a hard worker, and a good kid, but whatever this condition is seems to be completely taking away his confidence to shoot an open shot, or he might just not be able to. I know when the injury first occured, he said he could barely lift a basketball over his head. It's to bad surgery isn't an option.

Seen this too many times for it to still be happening....even after a "Healthy offseason".....I don't care if Fultz is good in the midrange....he isn't derozan who imo is a deadeye midrange shooter....he has to take that 3....you got to

It has been his "game" for past 5 years. Only suprising thing about this is fact that people needed 5 years to see :dontknow:

I wanna turn that page as well, just to enjoy who the next scapegoat will be.

my guess he is gonna be Wendell, but since he is not playing too many games,my guess he is gonna be Suggs at some point, cause he is just 4-5rd in the "Orlando Magic fans absurd expectations for young players list "so he is gonna be expendable.
