Chet

Chet has the offensive skills people have been calling on Mobley to develop for a few years at this point; in particular Chet's jump-shooting is multiple tiers ahead of Mobley.

I think Chet also has a tighter handle and his shooting in particular makes it so you have to play up closer on Chet, which makes him more reliable off the dribble.

I think long-term tou project their defense to be in similar tiers. I think Mobley is better as a switch defender but I think Chet might be a better pure rim-protector.

I'm concerned about Chet's health, but in terms of play I'm pretty confident in a Chet pick here.

Chet has so much more offensive upside and a significantly higher offensive floor that whatever gap you think exists defensively [I don't think it exists] is nullified.

Mobley is looking pretty limited as far as offense goes.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Never mind Mobley, Chet vs Wemby is a valid comparison, and it's not that crazy to lean Chet so far.

Mobley on defense , but as others have mentioned - Chet offers more on the offensive end and I think adds more value as a driver (important in OKC’s offense) & center who can actually put the ball on the floor and go to work as opposed to Mobley’s connective skills. I am hoping to see his scoring take a leap.

As others have noted, I have Mobley ahead of Chet on defense and Chet ahead of Mobley on offense. The gap on offense might be larger than the one on defense (debatable but justifiable) but I trust Mobley's body a lot more to hold up.

So it's a great question who I'd rather have going forward. As a bad team I'd be tempted to pick Chet for sure due to his higher upside, but if I have already good pieces in place, Mobley feels like the safer choice that would be tempting.

I wouldn't entertain that comparison just yet. As awesome as Chet has been, prime Wembanyama projects to have an aura of inevitability around him on both ends that I would never want to pass up on. This is not to say that Chet has no chance of being better than Victor – but if Victor develops reasonably well, he can and will do things that even someone like Chet cannot possibly match.
