The Panthers signed a guy who was banned from dealing Pokemon cards because he tried to scam customers. So put him on that shirt too.

CJ is better. If we drafted him though he would be bad here and Bryce would be killing it in Houston. The Panthers coaching, front office, and owner infrastructure is as bad as the Hornets. There is something seriously wrong with team that goes beyond Bryce. I mean the Vikings QB didn’t throw a single pass in practice, didn’t even know the names of his teammates and moved the ball down the field and scored. Bryce would be fine everywhere else IMO.

I disagree that Houston has it so good.
3 of the starting lineman for Houston prior to the year got hurt.
Nico Collins, Noah Brown and Robert Woods aren't world beaters at WR. Especially last year before Stroud.
Tank Dell is a 3rd rounder.
It is pretty clear that Stroud has the ability to lift guys around him.
On paper prior to the start of the year I think most would have said Thelen, Mingo and Chark were just as good if not better than Texans guys.

The Panthers offense is bad. Like the schemes and such. The same offensive line last year were able to move the ball especially on the ground. You can't tell me PJ Walker and Sam Darnold are better QB's than Bryce. The scheme is just a horrible fit for the players we have, and thats on Reich, who is notorious for being stubborn and forcing square pegs in round holes. I mean, Reich has been fired three times already, twice for being in total control of inefficient, terrible offenses and the third for being a part of one. Tepper is a moron who can't hire and meddles in drafting and Fitterer is bad because he can't draft. Its a rotting fish from top to bottom.
I fully believe Bryce will be fine in the right environment.

Re: Off Topic

Here is the "something seriously wrong" I was talking about. All 5 lineman immediately fail protection. What is Bryce supposed to do here. CJ Stroud is worse against pressure than Bryce Young btw
Need a total clean house or trade Bryce to salvage his career

Anyone notice in Bryces drop backs that he just kind of casually walks back sometimes? I've always wondered why. Maybe he needs to drop back quicker and deeper.

No matter what happens this season the hornets won't be a bigger joke than the Panthers.

Re: Off Topic
I'm not going to watch a single second of the Panthers until the 2024 season at the earliest.
This is the most embarrassing trainwreck of a team ever.
Might stretch it to 2025 when Chicago gets Caleb Williams with our #1 pick.

Bryce appears to be the same level of QB Mac Jones is, in all honesty I don't know if Bryce does anything better. Both have garbage weapons.

Where does this Panthers offense rank, statistically in the WOAT discussion?
I honestly don't know if I've ever seen a team this bad

Re: Off Topic
i’m at this crappy game right now. Everything about this team sucks. It’s rotten from the head down
The field sucks, it looks awful
the entertainment sucks
the concessions suck
there’s way more cowboy fans
the receivers stop on routes 5 to 10 yards out, i’ve never seen anything like it
Tepper, I gave him chances but man is he really bad

Jones had the same kind of draft profile that Young had - fast processor, great leader, but average athleticism and does nothing transcendent. I've watched both players carefully and I see one main trait that Young has over Jones - processing command.
Young has been forced to constantly throw into tight windows from the first play of preseason. He suffers against zone coverage because receivers beyond Thielen can't get separation, and that's a timing thing anyways. It doesn't help that developing routes are doomed by an inadequate and awkwardly built offensive line. Dumps, roll-outs, sweeps, screens are practically non existent. What's to keep a defense honest? Young's inexperience doesn't help, either.
Jones has faced these same dynamics yet failed to develop his processing command - and that's most evident when you've got defensive linemen in your face. This is where I see the separation between Jones and Young. Jones wilts before a pass rush, while Young see opportunity. Watch the film and I think you'll see it, too.
I predict that as he develops, Bryce Young will become a killer. Kurt Warner was a killer. You just couldn't blitz that guy. He was next-level in exploiting a defense. Drew Brees was a killer. His superpower was processing speed - but within the process. Brees didn't have Mahome-level physical skills, which translates to off-schedule success, but he would just kill you with speed and precision. Tom Brady - an absolute cold-blooded killer. I have an appreciation for what Roger Staubach did in his career. As a Redskin from birth, I hated that guy, but he would cut deeply and leave you alone on the field to bleed out.
Bryce Young has the killer trait. Year three, he'll see things before they happen and opponents won't be able to do anything about it. As the Panthers add speed on the outside and depth to the offensive line, the killer trait will only be more devastating.

Re: Off Topic
I feel the same way now that I did pre draft. Bryce doesn't have the size to take advantage of a full playbook. He's almost completely relegated to the shotgun and struggles to get throws out over the offensive and defensive lineman, forcing him to add loft or go off center. He doesn't have the strength to fight through sacks nor the speed to get outside and punish soft zones.
He definitely doesn't have an NFL caliber receiving corps, but he's not doing himself or his team any favors.
It doesn't make sense to spend so much capital on a guy you have to construct an offense around instead of one who can elevate the offense by virtue of just being out there
p. s. not trading Burns was and will be a massive mistake

Re: Off Topic
Our offensive weapons and OL are the worst in the league.
If Bryce isn't good, and Stroud is as good as he seems, this is like the Hornets missing out on AD and getting MKG instead.
Except this time is worse, because we passed on AD and traded stuff for MKG. And then one of those assets turned into Wemby (Caleb Williams).
So yeah, it's on Bryce's shoulders and this crappy FO and coaching staff to determine if we're the new Lions/Browns (if we aren't already) and will be irrelevant for the next decade, or if we do something meaningful.

it would be like if the Bobcats hadn't tanked, won tons of meaningless games to go 23-43 and then traded multiple picks to move up to #2.
This mess is squarely on the Panthers not tanking (multiple times) when they should have bottomed out.
investigate Adam Silver

Tepper won't tank. He has no patience, even worse than MJ. His only redeeming quality is he's willing to spend.

Yeah, hence my Mac Jones comparison. If you give Bryce a top 5 WR corp and top 5 oline then yes he can probably be pretty good. That is hard to accomplish especially when you traded away a bunch of assets to get him in the first place. Mac Jones would be pretty good if you gave him Dallas situation IMO and wasn't throwing to a bunch of guys who would be nothing more than 3rd WR on nearly any team in the league.
Going to be hard to improve fast around Bryce too when they are missing 2/4 of their next first/second round picks. Trading Burns would have been the move to fix that but now that he is going to sign Franchise tag, you have to wonder what he would even net in a trade after a down year production wise.

Can't remember which thread it was (who gets fired first between Hornets/Panthers staff), but Reich got fired even quicker than I expected.
