He starts out on guards. He substitutes for guards. He plays guard.pepe1991 wrote:basketballRob wrote:He isn't asked to run the offense. I think it's important to point out, but in same time, why i need to point out ? If you watch games, you will see that Black isn't playmaking. He plays SF.

Guarding somebody doesn't make you that position. Due endless switching every single player gaurds every single position at least once. That doesn't make some Capela Point Guard just because he guards Fultz for 2 possessions.
Cole ended up on Okongwu twice last night. That means Cole is our center!

So I only was able to tune in for the last two minutes last night. Lucky me. Or maybe i'm the bad luck. Either way, what a disastrous ending. I try and remind myself that this team is very young with very young leaders who are going to make mistakes until they learn to have better composure. Because right now that is what this team is lacking. They can be a very good team, but when it gets to crunch time they have trouble maintaining composure. They wind up panicking and turn the ball over with bad decisions.
I put a good amount of blame on Mosley for last night as well. We had a timeout and could've drawn up a play, instead he decides to let his very inexperienced squad go with it, despite them having struggled the last few minutes.
Honestly worst part for me joining late was that horrendous broadcast. Was the clock out of sync the entire game or was that just at the end?

I am glad we got Ingles. Franz has so much to learn from him. His ideal role is premium Utah Joe with bigger scoring load. Ingles affects games even without scoring and Wagner has also that talent although unpolished.
Maybe we should go for Mitchell even despite him being selfish ? Our alternatives are not so great.
Paolo has #1 option talent, but i dont see the fighter yet. How he responds to losing will matter not how we reaponds to wins.
Fultz is doing Fultz things. Nothing suprising here.

Time will tell. I was one of the only posters here saying Black was a good player 3 weeks ago. It's really exhausting being right so much.pepe1991 wrote:basketballRob wrote:He starts out on guards. He substitutes for guards. He plays guard.pepe1991 wrote:

He looks so unnatural and even like uncomfortable when shooting the ball. Like "I'm only doing this because I have to" kind of vibe from him when he shoots.
He's been making some but I'm still not ready to say he's definitely a good shooter.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Whole game
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

At least he is willing to take them unlike our starting PG who passed up a wide open 3 and dribbled in to a contested mid range

And you think other teams really respect Suggs' shot alot more? a career 38.8% shooter and 27.6% from 3?
My point is that our backcourt sucks as a whole and the solution is alot more difficult than just blaming one guy,

What’s old is new again… how many more years are people going to give the FO a pass for laughable roster management.
They’ve got to make a move at deadline but I’m guessing it’ll be Gary for 2 2nds and MCW rofl

A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

They ran the exact play they wanted in that scenario.
Atlanta was switching everything so Mosley had Isaac at the 5 come up and screen for Franz which forced Capela into the action defended an iso by Franz.
Unlike the possession before, however, where Franz drove to his right and Trae (guarding Suggs) provided no resistance as a help defender, Franz tried to change it up and drive left… only Murray completely and utterly ignored Fultz and rotated over into Franz’s path forcing a pass.
Now all that said, Franz still made the correct read and pass back to Banchero for a wide open jumper.
If the Magic had called a time out and made subs, Atlanta would’ve also made subs and they would not have been able to hunt that Capela mismatch, which is what they really wanted.
Long story short, I didn’t mind the no timeout. They ran the same action the play before and Franz beat Capela and scored.

We got to see some Isaac at the 5 yesterday and i hope we see more. Its not going to work against everyone but at times it could be useful.

We all knew Suggs was a project to some degree. He right now seems to be progressing at the rate you’d hope and expect while the meantime meshing extraordinary well with our team and doing the things that help teams wins games. Meaningful ones at that.
I’m willing to let him have the rest of the year or two for that development to continue.
Fultz is the guy because he’s not a project. He’s a vet who at this point is what he is. You don’t have to throw out the baby with the bath water.
I rooted for his comeback but at this point, and we all knew this last season or two, or three, he doesn’t fit.

I don’t want them to look back at the end of the season and say “If only we had won this game, the Lakers away game and the Mavs home game.”

Isaac playing at the end of the game was beautiful, and our defense immediately leveled up from him being on the court.
We really need Gary Harris back to provide shooting, especially in end of game situations
