Is Tyrese Haliburton possibly the best combination of Shooting+Passing we've seen yet?

Obviously we've seen better shooters and passers than Hali.

However Curry is nowhere near Hali in the playmaking department and Magic wasn't a good 3pt shooter. Those 2 were in a higher echelon as players overall of course for other reasons as they were offensive systems unto themselves, including the playoffs.

One can say Steve Nash, but Hali is shooting on higher volume.

Any other player you can think of?

Tyrese Haliburton possibly the best combination of Shooting+Passing we've seen yet?

Weird way to spell "Tyrese Maxey".

James Harden in his prime was high volume scorer, high volume threes, high volume assists.

Mark Price is another guy back in the day. 20ppg, 9apg on 40% from three and 5 attempts per game (which was a whole lot back then)

Right, but I interpreted question/claim aimed at PG position only. Only if thats not the case, yeah, Jokic and Bird is hard to dispute, but they are the only two other non PG guys I guess?

This is so incredibly wrong it's actually insulting to read and calls into question your entire approach to the sport of basketball

It's a set shot. Accurate with time but not a form he can really do much off the dribble with when defended well.

It's also a little in front of his face and not as high as a textbook shot.

I can't understand how his form got him this far and still goes in.

I don't think he'd be able to get it off in the hand checking era.

A little similar for SGA to be honest.

Some people view playmaking for point guards as the ability of a player with the ball to manipulate a defense and then pass to a teammate for an assist.

I've had Steve Nash as his comparison for years now, absolutely amazing shooter and amazing passer, you just kind of wish he'd be a tad more aggressive

Nash is a career 43% 3pt shooter and led the league in TS% multiple times. He has also been in the 50/40/90 club 2 times.

Also a guy that I think falls under the radar in discussions like this is Stockton. Ya he wasnt a high volume scorer, but he was super efficient. Led the league in TS% 3x and a 38% 3pt shooter. He was just so unselfish he didnt shoot too much.

Maxey averages 7 assists per game.

Haliburton's lowest assist total in a game this season is 8.

Also, I'd argue its a lot easier to get assists passing to a player like Embiid(not to mention Harris), vs the role players Haliburton is playing with.

Harden hasn't once shot above 40% from 3 for a season, unless you count the two games he has played in this season.

Steve Nash is still the best since he has shown he can do it consistently in a higher level (playoffs). Unfortunately for Haliburton, who could be as good as Nash, he’s stuck with a mediocre team like the Pacers. So maybe we’ll know when Indiana makes deals that makes them legit contenders and actually goes deep into the postseason.
