Ime and Sengun the biggest part of it.

I can see why Ime was Masai’s first choice to be our coach.

Remember that comment Udoka made at the Rockets' intro conference? He threw a shade at us there. Which to me sounds like a bit of scorn for not getting picked.

I thnk Udoka wanted to coach this defensive team with the personnel we had. I wanted him as our coach, although I do understand why we went away from him.

I don’t think Udoka wanted to come here lol. He signed with the Rockets as soon as he could, literally the first coach to be hired in the off season lol.

He 100% passed up on us.

Nah fam. Udoka to Toronto rumours were out there before Rockets hired him. Why would he take a "jab" at Raptors at Rockets' intro press conference if he wasn't involved in the discussions for our HC job? Go back and see the timeline.

Maxey wasn’t even playing 20 minutes a game during that season. He was not untouchable lol.

Maxey was a rookie that year. Morey isn’t going to offer Maxey while other teams are offering Kendrick Nunn. Even the Lakers refused to part with THT. There was nothing being offered at the deadline.

I trust Windhorst sources plus both Miami and Philly pivoted to their back up plans pretty quickly. They had their price and when the Raps said no they went with Oladipo and George Hill.

I watch too much basketball and I think this every damn night. The biggest mistake they made, IMO, is thinking they can teach anyone to shoot. I don't know if it's arrogance, hubris, delusion, bad data, etc, but it's not working.

Could also be that they underrated Lowry. I think they thought they could teach anyone to shoot. But I think it was corner and catch and shoot 3s. Not off the dribble and step back 3s that this league has evolved into.

I think everyone took Lowry for granted. We watched him run an offense and setup teammates for wide open looks for basically a decade. When you have a guy like that who even at the end of his career, basically made Birch (who was waived from a crap team before we picked him up and hasn't done anything since he was without Lowry) look like a rotation big. You might think that any pg can setup teammates for good looks.

Lowry would have this team looking a lot different.

Regardless, there gamble on length failed and over a few short years, the league has drastically changed from what they wanted to do.

I haven't seen Chet or the Suns play this year, except for the last 4 or 5 minutes of this game.

KD looks old and Chet is going to be really, really good. I like the way he moves and he's a fighter. He throws his 160 pounds around any chance he gets.

Are these correct assumptions?

Yeah. Chet plays with a chip on his shoulder and doesn’t back down. He’s really good and if Wendy wasn’t around, would be the unicorn everyone is enamored with right now.

KDs had to carry a load all season. Doesn’t look as mythical as before but he’s still damn good.

We all knew Maxeys potential. He’s just doing what he does to us against every team now
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Fam, put on your thinking cap instead of talking with your ego being entrenched to a position.

Udoka didn't have to mention ANY OTHER TEAM at that introduction press conference for Rockets. New coaches always talks about THEIR TEAM and what gems they have and what the work is going to be. Not another team. But here he is refering to Raptors.

Rockets roster has tons of holes. They got an under-sized center. They got a shooting guard who can't defend and has been pretty inconsistent. they got a slow shrimp for a point guard. The expectation for Rockets coming into the season was lottery. None of their young players have a superstar ceiling. Not Sengun, not Smith. If you were a coach you'd rather take bottom-dweller or a play-in team with an all-NBA player and a defensive DPOY candidate and ROTY? Get serious.

You're putting on your homer glasses and aren't seeing this objectively. If most of us think this is a treadmill team, wtf you do think the coaches are saying lol.

Why would a coach with pedigree want to a coach a team that has so much potential turmoil. OG and Siakam are both UFA's at the end of the season. We have no meaningful prospects outside of Scottie. We're in a literal a state of flux.

We're not an attractive organization.

I'd rather be them. Steve Ballmer and Los Angeles location gives the Clippers the ability to lure top free agents whenever they have cap space. On the other hand, we have to get incredibly lucky drafting (coupled with the fact Rogers/Bell will never let us tank for blue chip prospects whenever the potential to fill arenas exists) and trading. And we're on the verge of overpaying our mid stars or losing them for nothing.

People are going to be in for a major surprise after 82 games are done lol. So many comments in here with such absolutes.

I picked Sengun as the guy who will be the second best player in this draft behind Barnes when it's all said and done. Glad to see he's being utilized more in the offense. He will drive that offense as the main hub one day.

Maxey is playing way better than I expected him to. He is singlehandedly raising the Sixers' ceiling. They also got some solid talent as support players in that Harden trade. The Sixers vs Celtics dynamic should be interesting. The Celtics have a more stacked team but the Sixers have much better star power imo.

OKC gotta clear up some usage for Jalen Williams man. Too much talent on that team.

They need to offload Josh Middey. OG would be such a perfect fit

Siakam for Kuminga/Moody/Podz and a pick or 2.

I’m ready to talk Warriors.

Giddey and Scottie is a scary duo in a bad way lol.

Return to Toronto Raptors
