Kyrie Curry Paul Luka Morant Poole KD off top my head. You’re not going to get top 5 accolades for having tight handles lol. You have to actually be able to iso and make people look silly guarding you. Using your speed to blow past ppl and stepbacks to create space isn’t exactly high ball handling skills.

But personally I don’t care for flash if you turn the
ball over. Maxey has plenty of iso scoring moves

KD does not have a top handle at all not even top 10.

Check his playoff stuff his biggest weakness was getting stripped

Irving I missed but Maxey certainly has an elite one that’s not a question.

Morant? Lol he was my fav prospect that year but he’s pretty much the biggest game violater today. He can’t properly dribble at all, not that he can’t, dude hard carries all the time.

Lol Maxey has enough to make you hesitate so he will blow past you and if he can’t he has the step back as a counter.

KD will definitely embarrass you in iso with a crossover. He demands doubles so of course when he picks the ball up he’s prone to turnovers.

Ja Morant does what everybody in the league does. Everyone who is considered a top dribbler carries lol.

Even if you remove KD and Ja, I’d still rank Kyrie Irving CP3 Harden Luka and even Jordan Poole ahead. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion tho. Doubt you’ll find anyone with Maxey in theres.

Some ppl don’t have the speed so they need ball handling, some have elite speed so there’s no reason to do all that dribbling.

Look at the first score of the game:

Maxey travels twice in one play and it isn't called. At 0:09 he catches the ball and puts both feet on the ground. Then pivots on his right foot. Then pivots on his left foot. Two pivot feet = travel. Then he drives... left foot (his second pivot foot) is off the ground before the ball leaves his hand (see 0:12). Travel. That second one is a close call that isn't clear except on replay, though you'd expect professional refs to see it. The first one was pretty blatant, though. Glad he got away with it, but wow.

Came here to say precisely the same thing! Talk about night and day - I can't help but be a little pissed off that years were wasted here with Glenn.

Just incredible how much fun it is to watch this team and the kid some guys here couldn't wait to ship out.

This is the most enjoyable team since the Roco and Homie Dario years, with a short term order of Jimmy Butler the next year. Even then the Simmons-Embiid chemistry mismatch was being whispered about.

Daryl has bought a lot of good will at the moment with Nurse coming in and the Harden trade, gotta make the next deal or two exactly right.

I love Jojo’s attitude towards Maxey. Its as if he’s OK giving him the keys.

Ok shame on me. You called Maxey a superstar at the beginning of last season just because he was hitting open 3s. You were wrong on that but do you see me calling you a fellow Sixers fan an idiot?

This holier than thou attitude some of you have on this message board for a bunch of faceless posters is weird

Are you fing serious? I said he had superstar *potential* and he will be unleashed this year when The System is gone. And it would be idiotic to trade him for a 33-year-old Dame who is at risk of being washed at any moment.

100% common sense to anyone with a double-digit IQ. For you to be so defensive about your terrible take is what's weird.

But maybe not since people don't like to admit when they're totally wrong.

This is the holier than thou attitude I'm talking about. I bet you wouldn't call me an idiot to my face

No you did not say Maxey had superstar potential. You said he was a superstar flat out. If I was defensive about my terrible take, then I would just call you a dumbass for saying Maxey is a superstar after about 3 games last season. If I didn't like to admit I was wrong, then I wouldn't have even admitted I wanted Maxey traded for Lillard

Got get a life instead of posting yours away on here

Hell of a game for Maxey.

Daryl said on RTRS that Maxey has already surpassed what they thought his ceiling was when they drafted him. Testament to his work ethic.

Great game. The Pacers play at an incredible pace and they were draining 3's like they were layups, wow. But throughout all of that and the loss of KO, this team managed to win. Great game.

Yes a lot of people wanted Maxey traded for a star. But that is what makes this place fun. People post their opinions some of them are wrong some of them are right. But it's all in the spirit of wanting this team to get better. And at the end of the day it's just an opinion. So 76ers fans no need to turn on each other.....yet!

Enough with this Mike Muscala talk. Yes he hit the shot that put the 76ers in the position to get Maxey. But it was Chris Paul that lifted that Thunder team to the point where that shot even mattered. CP3 did all the heavy lifting all season long, Muscala just hit an important shot.

As much as I disliked the whole Harden situation I am so glad he was a 76er. You look at Maxey's game and you can see James Harden fingerprints all over it. Maxey himself has given James a lot of credit for his development. So at his point in time I have to give James a big thank you.

It's only game 9, with a lot more games to play. Hopefully this team will continue to play exciting, fun and winning basketball.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

Well I did say the last 2 years he could play like Lillard, Murray or Steph if they run him off ball and install more DHO. Never, imagined he'd be this solid as a playmaker though. Steph as a point guard is a careless turnover machine.

And yes, I was also saying they should trade him years ago for Kyle Lowry :D

Never could imagine Maxey would explode like this. **** what anybody says, this guy is playing top 10 right now. Because of his shooting, better than Morant ever was. I bring up Ja, as possibly the only comparable player in terms of explosion with the ball in his hands. Out here blocking shots above the rim. Yet he's an elite shooter, he's improved the ball handling and passing. A guy this complete, is an MVP candidate, and he's not done yet. God bless him.

Boy this game thread became toxic real fast...

Here's my first post EVER concerning Maxey

Him being a UK guard, if his ceiling is even that of John Wall pre-injury, we absolutely must keep him.

Tyrese Maxey is the Franchise. Embiid saw it before everyone else. Now the rest of us saw it. This was the first time in 10 years that Embiid had his usual MVP game (37-13-6) and he wasn't even the star of the game (on our team). Incredible.

This team is amazing. They deserve to play this season out with this roster. If there aren't significant injuries (and when Oubre comes back), no need to make any trades toward the deadline.

Huge credits to Nick Nurse. Hell of a coach.

It also took Tobias 5 years to finally live up to that contract. Perfect 3rd option for this team, and the way he is aggressive. If he is going to play like this, I want to extend him (on a more team-friendly contract)

Thinking about that too

Could he work with Joel? Can he guard the perimeter? He would be a very good back-up at least.
But Indy has no incentive to make a trade so no need to start thinking about it

But I was thinking, when looking at this game, that Turner and TJ would be guys that could make us better in the long run

Huh

I only watched highlights for two players going into draft - Cole Anthony - DID NOT WANT and Tyrese Maxey, who looked like he could get to the rim and was pretty crafty inside 6 feet with an array of finishes, so works for me.

His release on 3s is looooooow.

I was noticing the same thing last night. Embiid seems to be growing up right before our eyes and understanding that he can still get his numbers and at the same time preserve his body and have a better chance of playoff success with this team approach of Nurse's motion offense. Nothing else Morey does will have the impact of this coaching change.

A versatile player like Batum is also helping a lot (fluidity and quick 3's in off, size blocks disrupting passes on Def) ! Also showing professionalism helps a lot. The trade is a win for Philly, and always has been since Clips received a bum !
