Porzingis has has an unbelievably efficient start to the season. Wonder if he can keep it up, but I kinda doubt it.. His true shooting is a hair short of 70%. Wild.
Good assessment:

What Tatum did in the 4th quarter to the Knicks very much looks like bullying though.

That's nothing new because right now the shots he's getting is usually open shots.

He doesn't have to do a lot because he's surrounded by scorers.

Cs need to find another bench big better than Kornet that can shoot the 3. You can tell Mazulla doesnt like playing Kornet because of that.

Brad has 3 months to do that.

I feel like they had the guy in Muscala, not sure why they got rid of him.

He was just no good on defense.

Forget Jrue's 15000th point. This is a snippet of growth from JB and him trying to play the right way. Initially had PP open to his left for a pitch-ahead. "He's forcing it against 4 Knicks, isn't he?" was my first thought. Pleasantly surprised by the pullback and assist for Jrue trailer three. If he could just consistently do stuff like this, it will raise the ceiling of this team on offense.

Happy with this well-earned win against a scrappy Knicks team that made some tough shots. Since you can't realistically play hard 48 min all season long, the team showed great patience in pressing slowly and coming back to hit them harder in the second half.

Good effort by everyone, I was a bit surprised with Mazzulla playing only 8 guys. Could have played the deep bench the last 3 minutes.

Great patience specially by D-White, who only took 3 shots in 31 minutes and hasn't been as prolific since the birth of his child. And of course, Jayson Tatum getting better by the day. Amazing to watch.

It's was 91-88 with under 8 mins left in the game. Tatum scored or assisted 18 of Cs last 23 points. He made 4 straight threes after going 1/8. The entire Knicks team scored 10 points during that span. That's how you lead and put away a team.

Mazzulla showing some wisdom behind his child-like face, I'm-tired-of-talking-to-you teen anger and his significant flaws. I guess Brad saw his fighting spirit and the team can build from this.

Peter Vecsey:
Tatum misfired seven straight treys going into fourth quadrant, then buried five straight (35 points) and the Knicks, 114-98. Only a select few earn a license to continue to lock & load no matter what. Meanwhile, not a single Knick could start for Boston…

The Knicks are a good and very tough team, but when you think about this, it's true. If Brunson played for Boston he'd be the ultimate sixth man, an absolute demoralizing scorcher off the bench. But he might very well not start,

I would like to see Philly have to play some good teams on the road. So far that has not happened.

Agreed. I still fear Milwaukee in the playoffs several factors more than I do Philly. When the Bucks start clicking, they're gonna be a problem. Middleton seems to be coming along nicely back from injury.

The Jays combined for half the Celtics' total box score offensive production:

57 of 114 points (exactly 1/2)
13 of 27 assists (almost 1/2)
Banned temporarily for, among other sins, being "Extremely Deviant".

The assumption has been that we need a better 3rd big. Is the reality that we need a new second big? Is Horford showing signs he is in steep decline? I hope it’s just early season and he knows he needs to save his best for late season and playoffs but this is an early concern of mine. Even more reason why getting KP was so important.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

This is a game they lose last year. The core is different and seems to really clamp down at home.

Coach seems to be big on keeping teams to 25 points or less in a quarter on defense. After the first quarter, Joe was ecstatic, running onto the court and clapping furiously. We then kept them to under 25 in 2 of the next three quarters, under 100 total. Nice defense!
