With Giannis on the roster it really shouldn't be that difficult to have a competent to good defense. MIA does it seemingly every year and over half their rotation most years are negative individual defenders.

But have to think a lot of the D is chalked up to trying new things rather than just rolling out what they did last year. Offense is really even more puzzling. It looks a completely mess and the seemingly dream Giannis/Dame PnR is a complete dud so far. That should be the simplest thing but somehow they've botched it so far and any positives are just when they each do their own thing solo
Resident Lillard truther since 2015.

The defensive issues are because you have guys like Beas playing super aggressive man to man. That will never work.

There’s ways and times you can play super aggressively with certain personnel (like an AJJ/Marjon/Midds/Portis/Giannis lineup), but using that as your base defense is idiotic.

They don’t have the personnel to maintain 48 minutes of high intensity D, so breakdowns happens and the other team gets easy looks at the rim or wide open threes.

Didn’t we go through this already with Kidd?

Exactly. Agressive D like ag wants reminds me of when Petino went to the Celtics and implemented a full time full court press like he used at kentucky. It was a complete joke. That stuff works in college and video games. It doesn’t work in the nba. Griffin will never be a head coach again in his life but somehow he was good enough to be ours.

And somehow we “have to give him time”. He’s already proven he’s an idiot. The title window here is short. Fire the dick head and move on.
