In the aftermath of Klay and Draymond getting ejected Podz gets to play 39 mins. He drops 23/7/5 in a close loss to Minny. Wildly good 2023 draft for the Warriors getting Podz and TJD. Two players who fit them like a glove.

Damn what an incredible game. So happy to see the clippers go 0 and 5 with Harden even tho I'll always dig kawhi and norm.

Speaking of norm....he played great but I swear....I have never seen a player blow as many defensive switches in the clutch as he does. I could probably make a 5 minute hilite reel of teams getting easy buckets during clutch times while he is spinning around in circles while his teammates are pointing where he is supposed to go. It's such a strange flaw in his game.

Biggest bucket of the game was when norm tried to come off the double and ran to the corner 3 (which was already covered) leaving Gordon alone under the bucket. He tried to recover but only fouled Gordon for the and-1. Lue started subbing him out offense/defense after that play.

The league still doesn't have an answer for Jokic. I expect at least one more nuggets chip if not two. Reggie was a REALLY good pickup for them. Their backcourt is set. They might need to a vet minimum to shore up the frontcourt but that's about it. Maybe one of the Morris Brothers or something like that.

Embiid is great and all....but he doesn't pose the same question to the league that jokic does. It's often said "you got to make him work on defense....get him into foul trouble" and that makes sense....but noone seems capable of executing it yet.

Best game I've seen all season.

One more thing...opposing teams should hire a guy to sit in a box upstairs with the sole job of staring at clippers timeout Huddles. You can tell simply by Harden's body language whether he's getting the ball or not. He can't help himself but to tell on his team with his demonstrative pouting when he's not getting the ball.

Do you and/or others care?

I talked to an insider about this. Apparently the local team broadcasters are barely staying afloat. The raptors are immune to this problem because our TV broadcasts have a national audience.

It's the small market teams. Nationally televised games are still obviously making a bundle (TNT et al) but small market local broadcasts are bleeding money...running on huge annual losses now. Illegal streaming hits them harder than anyone else. So this whole gimmick was designed to throw them a bone.

When ppl say "I watched the Timberwolves feed" on this board....those are the broadcasts that are collectively in serious trouble. From what I'm hearing it's a serious problem. To the point that local broadcasters are asking the league for bailout money. So the in-season tourney is the first attempt to "bail them out" without actually cutting any cheques.

Even after winning the chip....the Denver local broadcasting of nugget games are bleeding money too. So it has nothing to do with basketball.

The same amount of ppl are still watching basketball but the TV infrastructure that broadcasts games locally has collapsed.

Don't forget...every raptor game we watch on TV is broadcast nationally across the entire country. Compare that audience to Denver, Colorado. So you can see how streaming is gonna hit the nuggets broadcast team much harder than the raptors.

By no means his fault, but it's going to be funny when Monty Williams is sitting on the panel of an NBA show while still being owed 50M+ by the Pistons.

He wanted to be in LA so he doesn't really have much choice other than the Clippers or the Lakers. If he keeps breaking down at this rate he's gonna be a role player/scrub in a few years and he'll have to play for the Pistons lol

Norms defense has been brutal since he left. It wasnt great here either but people on here often ignore this. His on/off stats suck

LOL why? Pacers are a great team this season and the Clippers are a mess. Man, NBA players sure love Los Angeles for whatever reason.
