Despite his struggles, Paolo is now shooting 40% from deep for the season (on a solid 3 attempts per game). 40%... From the 3pt line... Let that sink in.

I figured out why they suck so much at the end of games. They slow their pace way down which throws them all off and makes them commit turnovers nonstop. It's like taking a kid who has been hyper for two hours straight and telling them to slow down and read a book. Not going to work.

They need to continue to play their game. Not slow down and “protect the lead”. Unless this is the team blatantly ignoring Mosely, it seems like a coaching issue. I wonder how a game would go if they didn’t take their foot off the gas pedal and kept their rapid scoring pace. It’s definitely what they are best at this season.

Plus they are relying way too much on Paolo and his game simply isn’t there yet. Sure give him the ball with the game on the line, but this whole ISO Paolo thing that starts at the beginning of the fourth quarter is not working.

Some of what you said is indeed true. The whole game, Paolo just didn't know what to do with the ball in his hand. But he has to be aggressive because that is his role on the team. He needs to go to the hoop more explosive and determined plus with good ball handling. He didn't do that all night. And I think he is frustrated about that also. But I think he can definitely improve on that. Remember the opening night when he crossed over and went to the hoop? WOW

But Paolo won the game for us tonight, period! I want Paolo and Franz to step up in the 4th Q and they did.

The difference between yesterday's game and tonight's game is the cast supporting Paolo and Franz step up and less TOs. That is the key. We went to the FT line 7 more times than Chicago. But I think if Chicago definitely shot better, we probably could lose tonight's game.

Agreed. I laugh when people say things like "this is a worthless win", any NBA win for a young team desperate to earn late game experience is very important.

It's certainly not a worthless win. The goal is to make the playoffs so there are no worthless wins. But it was so unimpressive. Like theres nothing to really be excited about. Just a unimpressive performance against an unimpressive opponent

So should we call the NBA and give the win back because the style points weren't cute enough? I don't understand that mind set. This young team needs to learn how to grind out games and overcome challenges. For a fan base that has suffered for over a decade we can surely be ungrateful.

Considering how the first 4-5 games went that's impressive.

Definitely. Any game you can get a W and a building block is a good night. Tonight we got one step closer to establishing Paolo as our late game go to guy, which we haven’t had in forever.

Mosely needs to gameplan better at the end of games and I sincerely hopes he works on it, but overall not at all upset with the game tonight.

At the end of the season, this will count as a +1 in the total win column. Moral victory/loss doesnt have a counter.

The magic are clearly a very young team and still building, tonight is an example of when these things are the facts. They definitely have issues with turnovers and keeping the lead but that will be a common issue when the team is so young. They are still trying to figure out what they have in Black but they need to figure out the backcourt particularly the PG position. And obviously they need to fix their three point shooting, that is a massive problem. And I am not particularly worried about Paolo or Franz they will get better. I really think fans need to stop worrying about the wins and losses because this team is so young and so far away from contending. There are just too many holes right now.

Then he should let him be the ball handler in the high PNR instead of Paolo or Franz.

I said nothing of the sort. We won. Great. We need all the wins we can get. Doesn't mean I should be happy with how we played. Never tolerate anything in a win that you wouldn’t in a loss

That will come naturally in time. It's great that Black is experiencing these games at such a young age, and he's contributing to winning. Mosely called him an elite defender in the post game.

Like I said last game this team doesn't know how to play with a lead and tonight almost choked the game away.... I wonder how long mose will continue to let this continue without tweaks... He HAS to see there is a pattern forming if WE see it... Better rotations would be a start

I couldn't watch this one but this is 100% accurate, nobody cares how you won or lost game, at the end of a day only thing that counts is W or L.

Take W, no matter how you get there ( or against who).

Yeah, this team is no good. And WCJ and the ghost of Markelle isn't going to change that. String of losses incoming.

I gotta hand it to pepe, his reactions to wins or losses has been pretty middle of the ground in terms of not overreacting in one way or another

I should rename myself into ZenMaster now 8-)

jokes aside, there simply isn't much reason to overreact to single game anyway. nba is wild league, you can have game where best team in a league is losing by 30 to a worst.

On the bright side is seems P5 has a bit of the clutch gene.... Two gamewinners so far this season
