Game 12: Sixers @ Hawks 11/17 @ 7:30 pm ET Ugly Court Game 3 Thread

Instead of the In Season Tournament, I'm just gonna call these the Ugly Court games from now on.

Anyways Embiid is listed as questionable. I say rest him and roll with the young guys. And I hope to see a heavy dose of Springer.

More Springer, less Pat Bev.
More KJ Martin, less Marcus Morris.
More fun, less stress.

We lose for sure if Embiid sits because Capela/Okongwu will absolutely destroy us without him. We might not get a rebound all night.

We paid $8M per year for an unreliable back-up C?

Those Bamba minutes would be rough & unfortunately BBall Paul doesn’t have the size needed to excel against their centers. I think we’d be fine if we had Batum & Oubre’s length as support but missing all 3 is tough to overcome against a team like Atlanta.

We should lose so we don't have a chance to advance in this stupid concoction. Sit Embiid and all the old guys.

I'm going to keep saying this until Bamba gets enough minutes to prove otherwise on the court. He may look bad, but he's pretty much been a league-average center for five years in the league. A player coming into his athletic prime doesn't generally just stop being who he is overnight. This year's stats he's had only NINE total minutes, and he has been indeed horrid. But that's not enough time for the stats to mean anything.

For every missed coverage or turnover, how many opponent's shots simply aren't taken because of his ridiculous wingspan (only 2 inches shorter than Wemby)? Apparently enough that along with his 3pt% reb% and blk%... he comes out as an okay player. Enough to make up for the boneheaded plays that stand out and are easy to see. Not everything he does shows up in the counting stats, but they do show up in the advanced stats - where he's not great but good enough.

Maybe he did turn into the worst player ever overnight - after all more surprising and worse things have happened to this franchise.
We had two #1 overall picks turn into non-shooters on us, and we've had two other players almost die in the past few years. But it's unlikely that Bamba suddenly really is a NET -37 player instead of the NET +5 player he's been for the past 5 years. He's probably the same player he's always been. The strongest evidence to the contrary isn't his horrible stats in 9 minutes... it's the Sixers jersey he wears and the accompanying curse.

Yeah if Embiid is still not 100%, just sit him out. His presence was counterproductive the last two games.

Let's see what Reed and Bamba can do with some extended run. We have to figure out what we have, and Nurse isn't afraid to experiment in the regular season.

You might as well call it that, because other than the silly floors it's just a regular season game to me.

Sit Embiid, and roll with B-Ball.

Yea the Hawks are another athletic team that will just take advantage of us missing our lengthier forwards out and embiid slothing around because he's banged up.
Atleast we know we will see Springer again. Hopefully he will have another positive game. Want to see him match-up against Trae and Murray for a few possessions without fouling.

I could be wrong but he often plays alongside Wendell Carter. He needs someone to do the dirty works where he would just pick the fruits from the yree. He’s lazy.

Maybe Morris should play like a physical 5, then Bamba slides to 4. Something like that might work.

If he requires Morris to do the dirty work, this is not gonna work.

Melton's lack of finishing is special at this point

Yeah looks nice. The key is a light color for most of the court. That bright red on our court was painful to look at.

Jo looking much better. Not just because of the competition, looks like he has more energy. Maybe he's feeling better after that hip issue.

Maxey has been off the last few games. Don't like his lack of aggression either.
