Maybe they'll surprise me, Giannis plays both and Middleton plays tomorrow.

Yeah, it sucks for the fans if they do it that way. I don't see why they don't just all play both games. These guys are pro athletes, it can't be that hard to play a B2B once in awhile. You would hope that they can beat the Hornets without the starters playing big minutes and they should all be good to go tomorrow at home on a Saturday night in a marquee game.

This is precisely why I would never pay money to go a Bucks game unless it's a playoff game.I'll be damned if I buy tickets, drive downtown, pay for parking, only to find out the day of the game that I just paid money to watch Thanasis and Wigginton get blown out by whoever we happen to be playing that night.

Although I will say with Griffin now instead of Bud, probably less of a chance we see those games where 4 out of 5 starters sit. You'll probably at least get 1 of Giannis or Dame most nights. I still wouldn't take any chances and buy tickets for regular season games.

Preach. My budget is lower bowl seats and a hotel for one game a year. Last year my one game was vs the Pacers, and Giannis, Middleton, Halliburton all sat. Still a good game, but I paid Giannis prices for the tickets and a game with no stars should have been cheap like back in the Bogut/Redd days.

I'll admit I didn't consider back-to-backs when picking a game this year and maybe that's on me. I just thought "Giannis vs Luka should be awesome and it's early in the season so injury risk is lower." I guess if I get burned again, I'll go with TNT/ESPN games only in the future?

National games and tourney games seems to be the way to go. Dallas game is NBATV but that apparently doesn't count.

i bet they play both games.

Can anyone pinpoint why our rebounding has been so bad this year? I can see some lack of boxing out and just general lack of effort. Also I feel like we have lost at least 1-2 balls that someone just loses and it immediately lands with our opponent for an easy 3 or dunk. I don’t understand what schematically we our doing to cause this

I pointed out the other day (you mean you don't bookmark Big O comments?) what I think are a couple big reasons:

1) Having all their defenders pick up their man much higher and then being much more aggressive and closer to their man than Bud would ever do. It allows the opposition to get by their man much easier AND, more importantly, it makes it much more difficult for other players to get back and play help defense.

2) In particular, Brook and Giannis are playing much further out on the court (Lopez less so in the last few games) and thus not in position to rebound.

Bud played a super passive defense that emphasized rebounding, limiting paint points and getting back on defense. Griffin doesn't emphasize any of this. He wants to force the opposition into turnovers (not happening) and making decisions while being hounded.

Well explained. Sounds logical too.

Should we not then go back to the Bud defense? Getting much more rebounds will be great.

Bud’s D (and subbing Marjon or AJJ into the starting lineup for Beas) makes the most sense as a base D and what you want with Brook on the floor. (Which is kind of what they did for the first half of the Raptors game.

They could then be more aggressive when Brook isn’t on the floor. Maybe even run some full court traps when Giannis is at center with four legit defenders. And play zone when you have Dame/Beas on the court together.

Trying so hard to give benefit of doubt to the staff that they are tinkering but the bolded part of your post seems like the most obvious compromise ever. All of it, but especially sticking to a deeper drop with Brook on the floor. If he wants to run the chaotic chicken with head cut off attacking defense at least do it with more athletes on the floor

Whoop that booty for 3 quarters, then put in the bench mob for cleanup duty. Be fresh for the Dallas game. Profit.

I know I am not the only one who breathes a sigh of relief when I see Marques and not Novak on the broadcast.

That's one good thing about the tournament, Novak is booted.

That reason alone makes me a fan of the tournament....lol.

Novak is somehow the only guy who has actually played in the NBA but sounds clueless when he talks about the game of basketball. Maybe he dumbs himself down for TV, at least that's what I hope he's doing.
