The tournament as its currently set up is one for second rounders and undrafted FAs.

what does getting your coach fired have to do with players caring about getting rookies on their team? Giannis may care about it, but some of these guys would have to compete with a potential 15th overall pick. they dont want that. fans would care more, for sure. players, it's probably hit or miss.

You could have ended your post right there.

For sure he plays 1 on 5 for 48 minutes.

We might have a legit NBA starter in AJJ for the upcoming years. He has so many useful tools and energy it's insane for a rookie!

Giannis might have broken his record tonight for the most wide open 3s and lay ups created by him. We missed so many of them and we still ended up with 22 made 3s anyway. Most of them were wide open 3s from Dame, Khris, Beas and Bobby after great ball movement or pretty passes. You feel good even when they miss them.

AJ Green came into the court completely cold for the millionth time and splashed 2 3s like its nothing. He is an insane shooter and he proved it for 2 seasons in a row. WE HAVE TO GET HIM MORE TIME!

We missed plenty of good looks in the 1st quarter but Cam Payne came later and kept creating good offense until we start making them with the 2nd unit. That's why you have to have multiple pure PGs instead of noone in the entire roster for 10 years straight.

Dame got his legs back. Good luck...

He was headed for 25 minutes but got pulled with just under three left because the Hornets are a garage organization with multiple garbage humans on their team and continue getting deservedly smoked this season.

Awarding draft picks for winning six or seven games during the regular season is absurd.

There’s an argument he doesn’t fit the super aggressive D but would be great funneling people to Brook.

Then don't ask me to care about a fake in season tournament that means nothing. It's just patronizing.

Positives:
- The hot shooting continues driven by better spacing and more Dame initiating. Keeping shooters in the corners makes teams decide between GA dunking, Dame laying it in, Dame shooting a three, or wide open corner threes. It’s a pick your poison because of all the gravity out there.
- AJJ still looks awesome and deserving more minutes.
- Brook was busting it out there dealing with going 1 on 2 at the rim almost every play and having to box out and tip to teammates.
- Not sure why we keep seeing Dame/Beas/Pat with no GA but at least they played zone with it
- AJ Green Professional Assassin
-Cam Payne miming “drew it up” after Midds mishandle turned into a Beas three

Negatives:
- That was the worst perimeter D I have even seen from a team that won by 30. No one (besides GA and AJJ) could stay in front of Ball or any Hornet. Luckily the Hornets D was even worse, the Hornets can’t shoot threes well enough to keep up. The zone slowed them to erase the deficit. And Brook got a bunch of stops at the rim himself.
-AJJ not enough minutes. Pat too many minutes.
-Guards are still playing too aggressively on ball and taking awful angles off ball when trying (and failing) to help contain drives. The Mavs, Celtics, and Heat will all score 120+ if this strategy continues.
-Hornets crowd largely cheered Bridges when he checked in. Glad they have to root for a garbage team.

I know this is not a popular option.

I really liked the Hornets court.

Bucks players sat Griff down and told him he was a dumbass after the Toronto beatdown.

The leading on/off player since then with a +16.8 net rating?

Nice to finally see a blowout, regardless of opponent. Sucks that our "test" tomorrow is on a b2b. Best Dame and Giannis have looked together by far.

We just scored +/=20 3s in b2b games. We only did it twice before in Giannis era(11 years).

Unofficial AJAX tracker for Friday, Nov. 17th 2023

WOW
1. Stepback 3 with supreme flair

Good
1. Hustles, utilizes speed to get back into transition to swat pass out of bounds.
2. Drains catch and shoot 3 pointer, nothing but net
3. Perfect, in rhythm bounce pass assist to Bobby in the paint.
4. Catches ball and instantly tosses it down court for the easy assist and jam for TA

Bad
1. Indecision on drive leads to lazy kick out pass that gets picked off.
2. Makes intuitive play with impressive reaction on entry pass to try and swat it out but lack of body awareness leads to collision with opponent and two free throws. He will learn to better position himself or just not go for something that isn't possible without high chance of fouling.

Of Note
1. Catches kick out and attacks closeout but not much of a plan afterward. Ended up making a good bail out pass to Giannis but would have preferred to see a floater or something to keep the ball moving faster.

thanks. i think i'm going to keep a running list for the rest of the season and see what the final tally ends up being.

Please don't. I hate Ajax.

It would be nice if you'd do this for AJJ though.

Eh, nah. The point is to have no one start from behind at the start of group play. Goal differential is generally the primary in soccer where the format is ripped from.

No, cup tournaments in football were allways about single elimination games. One of the fun things is it's open for lower leagues as well (even amateurs).
In the Champions league they introduced group stages to have more games for (a lot) more money. If 2 teams are tied the resuls between these teams count first. So goal difference is not a big thing.

In the NBA-cup they need 16 teams in the knock-out stage I guess. With the top 2 in 6 groups you have 12 teams, so you need 4 more. Many of the 3rd placed teams will have a 2-2 record. Goal difference is the only thing to use as a tiebreaker.

I think you're taking the usage of "cup" a little too specifically here. Wasn't my intent in using the word.

i'm not sure what you mean, but if you're implying AJJ is a better nickname than AJAX, say AJJ out loud once. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. I feel like we are all going to settle on Andre at some point. We'll see.

Google Ajax and you might understand.
It's like using Bull or Bear as a nickname for one of your favorite Bucks players.

yeah, i googled it and i'm still not understanding. it's possible you might be in too deep into, *waves hand*, whatever you got going on. certainly open to new nickname suggestions for our future franchise cornerstone, though.

That's what I've been calling him this whole time but I haven't been able to find a snazzy name for the tracker that messes well with that..

Until now
