I rather go for Simons than Lavine.
Maybe even Brogdon for less

Play Jase or Trade for Alvarado

Watching this back, on paolo's last attempt that drive into traffic....why did he jump there? couldn't he have just went all the way strong to the cup? why did he jump early like that? surely it couldn't have anything to do with vuc because he's not really protecting the rim....one thing i keep harping on with paolo is that at times i wish he would just finish like someone who's 6'10....too many finesse layups for my liking especially for someone that big....he's still figuring his game out though, he'll get there.....

All road wins are good wins; this is a great win as it is both a Magic win and a Bulls loss. The Magic is now 3 1/2 games up in the playoff run. Before these last two games, it was a 1 1/2 game lead.
GO MAGIC!

Box score thoughts:
Orlando won the FG% battle and won the game.
This game was almost lost because of poor FT shooting.
TOs were high, but also many forced TOs made this a push.
Orlando's bench scoring this game was elite. Wow on the massive 50 points.
The most telling statistic is that Orlando (yet again) win the offensive rebounding battle. That is a sustainable stat that will lead to many future wins.

Caruso as a starter was ultra elite, bit only got 23 minutes. I really wonder if the Bulls is trying to lose game?!?!?!?
We have talked for years about what a lovely defender he is. Well on offense he is an outrageously efficient shooter. He has an eFG% over 70%.

Thats the most important replay from that game. Thats why Franz and Paolo play much better with Ingles and Harris on the floor. Thats why most of the board is out on Fultz or at least on Fultz/Suggs pairing. One less shooter and Franz is propably losing the ball in traffic.
Once i thought Caruso is Suggs realistic outcome now i think its his ceiling
Paolo has problem making good decisions consistently and is so clumsy around the rim. Is it spacing/youth or is he more of a 2nd option ? When i watch him i see ultra talented player for his size, but i dont see #1 mentality.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

We just have Chicago's number in close games for some reason. But again it shouldn't have been this close, the turnovers made this much tougher than it should have been. Nice to see Franz have a bounceback game scoringwise and getting the decisive bucket in the clutch. Isaac was clearly our best player, I am so happy to have him back, if he stays healthy, we have a real shot of making the playoffs.
But we continue to be carried by the bench to a pretty extreme degree, especially by Ingles and Isaac. The on/off numbers are getting pretty absurd at this point. The offense is struggling mightily when the starters play while Ingles is posting 120+ ORTG in almost every game while Isaac is beasting on defense. Ingles is by far our best option for running a pick and roll, his passing is exquisite in these situations and even when he is shooting subpar his mere presence improves the spacing immensely. And Mo benefits a lot from their presence and is a great fit next to them.
On the other hand, the lineups with Franz and Paolo playing together continue to struggle mightily on offense and are now down to 95.9 ORTG (91.2 in the last 5 games). This won't work long term. Black's defense is really good, but his timidness on offense is hurting the team.

Isaac is my Center
Watching him hustle and fight on every play, knowing he’s learning the position. His humble acknowledgment of that in his post-game, talking about setting & holding picks, etc. He’s so earnest and serious about improving and never really talks about scoring. He’s also a willing 3pt shooter on the other end, which is really a better fit for a C next to Paolo & Franz.
IF he can just show he’s healthy…that’s the vision of a modern C.
That’s the answer, imo. Even if it’s just 20 mins per game error the rest of his career.

They would not. They are not gonna give up their best player for that. They are going to want a young player to be excited about in the deal. So your going to have to either add Suggs or AB. Also take off the lottery protection on that pick. Top 5 or 8 protection is fine but lottery is not realistic. A real offer for Lavine would becedric76 wrote:Knightro wrote:So...

Sign McClung with the open roster spot.
Chicago would jump on that offer
Fultz ( expiring deal thats movable)
Gary Harris ( expiring deal thats movable)
Suggs or AB ( Young talent to be excited about long term)
2024 pick top 8 protected
2025 Nuggets pick
Bulls are taking on alot of guards but since expiring they'd move them for other stuff ( probably picks)
Now would yall do that deal? I lean toward no but thats what it would take

When the dust has settled, they will have traded Lavine for a lot less than that. PHI could maybe pass on the Harden (incoming) package to immediately soup up their offense, but they'd probably be better suited paying the same or much less of Lavine's insane deal to OG and win on both ends without stepping on everyone else's offensive toes. The contract makes it such that a young team (like ORL or SAS or OKC) probably wouldn't take him for nothing but cap space...contender might pay more and stretch for the ring, future cap be damned.

I'd take my chances on Simons' defensive potential w/Mose over the chance that Lavine, at this point in his career, decides to take an interest in defense, especially with age & contract figured in. Some think Simons is overpaid, Lavine will be literally DOUBLE in his last year.

All choices are bad. We can see how a team constructed around scorers with low iq looks like. We need a playmaker who can create for himself but more importantly for others. We are looking like playoff team with 36 years old Joe Ingles on the floor.... Bring someone like that(doesnt matter the size) but younger.

This team needs primary ball-handling and playmaking.
needs Chris Paul that year in Okc,to make it clear.
someone who can handle the ball, play a decent pick and roll and,on top of that, make good decisions.
should be Fultz but can not be for injuries and personality.
you can't keep winning on Isaac,Ingles,Wagner good games and those nights when Anthony not bricking.

I missed this game.. got a peek and saw it was a blowout and though they'd finish it that way but still some bumps in the road.
If Isaac can stay healthy and they can count on him at the end of games the season ceiling changes dramatically. 4 A+++++ defenders on the floor at once can cause a lot of problems in the playoffs when the games are more physical (another thing fans forget when assessing the current team). A hallmark of traditionally good playoff teams.

Nope. For someone like LAvine who is on his peak, that offer is basically 3 expiring plus 1 late 1st and a possible teen lotto. I would think they need a young player to develop plus another 1st in the teen category.
