The worst game we played all season so far and still escaped with a win. They all count the same so I’ll take it. Get some good practice in vs grizz and hornets now, Jaylen can rest his groin there.

Just when you thought JT was ready to take over the league, then ge has this stinkers. This always happens after a great game. In the regular season and in the playoffs. It’s all mental with him. Its ok to have awful shooting nights, but to constantly chuck 3’s??? Damn, he looked stupid taking those shots. Like he still prioritize stats over winning. Good thing we have better overall players this season. If this was last year with Smart, we would have lost this game easily.

we won a game where tatum was our worst starter probably, so that's neat.

It's a team game.
Last season if something like this happened, Cs most likely would have lost.

Those 2 left hand drives, in crunch time, were awesome!

Tatum was pressing with his three in this game. Could've chosen to drive more or post up more or go to his midrange. I know some of the threes were open but 1/11? Raps don't really have much in terms of rim protection. Anunoby wasn't even playing and he could back down pretty much anyone he wants on that team. Easily one of his worst games this season. Did he even get to the line once? Brown was the efficient one today. And the other 5 chipped in bigly. JT off night shooting main reason Raps had kept this close in the 2nd half. Haven't checked but probably one of the rare negative +/- games from him.

Weird factoid from the box score:
The Celtics' +/- leader for the night was the only guy not in double figures.

When Raps went up 17-12, it was a ballboy who called the timeout for the Celtics. Then the players came up with this play by themselves while Joe was watching The Town at the end of the bench.

Definitely one of his worst games but I’m torn on the 3’s. One the hand he clearly didn’t have it and should’ve deferred/driven more but oth I think 8 or 9 (?) of those 3’s were good to great looks.
The middie wasn’t there either. Ultimately I’m with you, should’ve just played decoy more. 28% usage for Tatum and only 22 for brown was probably a mistake here.
His misses also were pretty close; some in and outs and the like but yeah 1/11 is ugly. But he wasn’t throwing up crap

I think he also had just 2 assists vs. 3 turnovers. I'm just trying to maintain the same energy when it's reversed. Meanwhile, JB got his buckets and assists in a variety of ways including some onball reps. I'm an equal opportunity hater.

Re: Beating the Raps Is Always In Season! Tournament Victory Cigar vs TOR 11/17
Jaylen praise! With Tatum having an off game, in the past Jaylen would just try to compensate via scoring but he had a much more balanced game today. Had some better passes, good variety of drives/midrangers and 3's. In cruch time before we went to the jrue KP pick and roll to ice the game, the two previous possesions with about 2 min to go, it was jaylen twice who initated the offense with good process ! First he drove and finished on Poetl when the raptors played conventional pick and roll defense and didn't switch. Next possesions they go JB/KP pick and roll again, raptors switch and Jb backs out on Poetl, drives and forces help at the nail and Jaylen makes the good kickout to Tatum for a wide open 3 who then missed it. But just good process stuff with JB on ball.
obviously he didnt play a perfect game but a lot more good than bad and didn't force it when there were better options available. Only 22% usage when he was very efficient
He's just figuring out where he fits within the offense and is adjusting. He might take some steps backwards in following games but this was a good one. Can't take that away.

And if they take away the Jaylen free throw jumper KP has a mismatch as he rolls and Jrue's open for a three. It's a 2 pass possession where the ball stays largely in the same area but there's so much player movement pressuring the defense.

A lot of these comments in this thread. You would think Boston lost a lot of games last year. Celtics actually DID win a few last year.

Cs would've won 60 games if they didn't lose games that they shouldn't have.
Perfect example is Grant at the FT line with no time left and the score was tied.
All Grant had to do was make one and the Cs would've won.
But he missed both!
There were lots of games the Cs lost last season because of incompetence.
So Boston hasn't lost any close games so far this year?

Celtics are 4-2 in games featuring clutch time this year, last year they were 24-13. Just to put some numbers on it and bring perspective.
Early days but that's 66% win rate compared to 60% last season

And I think it's been posted a few times that Smart was actually one of our better clutch time performers.

So fairly close. But in other words - not EVERY close game Boston wins this year would have been a loss last year.

Gave up 16 point half time lead - but showed nice TRUTH-like closing poise when they came back at us!
JT was way off & we won anyway.
7 played very well.
Zinger’s double double was awesome. He is quite personable, likable & well spoken as well.
Derrick did EVERYTHING as usual & iced the **** dagger.
Jrue is simply an awesome baller on both ends constantly!
Hauser shot the **** lights out again.
CELTICS!
10-2 - best in the NBA!
Clean up time on isle 4 VS the Grizz & the Hornets on Sun & Mon, & then kick the **** Bucks in the ass as a Thanksgiving present on Wed.

SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.
