There are a number of lottery players who instantly make us better in my opinion
I haven't watched a lot of footage yet, it's still early, but Collier, Buzelis, Sarr, are all caught my attention over the summer. I've also watched some footage of Stephon Castle and Elmarko Jackson, still havent mad up my mind on those two, need to watch more tape
Check out Rob Dillingham and Ja'Kobe Walter. Two scoring guards who would fit well. Trey Alexander looking good also.

The positive is this, the 2024 draft sucks. We give our pick to the spurs this year, lose Pascal and or OG for nothing we are by far the favs for Cooper flagg.

Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
Would be nice if we could at least pull off some trade for a pick in the 20s or early 30s so we can have a reason to even watch the draft this year
A guy who I think would be a nice addition to the roster would be Buyuktuncel who’s currently projected early 2nd round but will likely end up being a late 1st. Intriguing stretch 4 who can also play the 3. Good passer and respectable 3 point shot which is just getting better and better recently. Was arguably the best player at the recent u19 World Cup and dominated against the USA
Buyuktuncel just got cleared by the NCAA to play college ball at UCLA and will likely make his college debut tomorrow against Marquette. Should be interesting to see how his stock fares over the season in college. UCLA considers him to immediately be one of their best players and offensive options as a freshman so getting him cleared finally is a big deal

Honestly, another FRP being traded should be a fireable offense, I'm 100% done with Masai if that happens.

I dont really have a mantra.
If I knew how to fix this mess I wouldn't be just a fan.
I dont want to see a tank and I also want to see the team become contenders. Yea I want to have my cake and eat it too.

Law of averages says this draft should suck and frankly like 2 of the next 3 in general.
Lots of high end talent entered the league the past 4 - 5 years.

That's the world in general. The advancements in mobile phones and telecommunication systems from the top down have made information resources easier to access. People at the entry level of any profession are much better than they were even just 10 years ago and I would say that includes sports.

The point is that the talent entering the NBA is better every year and more internationally because of improvements to streaming and the internet in general. This allows informatin regarding training, best training programs, best coaches, and everything else to be more easily purchased. You could now realistically have a player getting live training virtually a lot easier than you could 15 years ago.

Definitely true.
But a thoroughbred is a thoroughbred.
Cade, scottie, wamba, luka, chet, paolo, shai, trae, morant etc etc
Theres some things you just cant teach.
Were probably going back to the 08 - 14 type of prospects.
Ya know tonnes of busts and 2nd tier star players like lavine bridges, etc… like im expecting a few drafts where the guy taken 14th ends up the best player by a mile (for example).
Mind you, its drafts like the ones im alluding to that produced vince carter and giannis.

Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
Latest mock by Yahoo has Collier moving up to the top spot and Ron Holland moving down to 4 behind Ja'Kobe Walter.

1. Washington Wizards: G Isaiah Collier
Ht./Wt.: 6-5, 210 pounds | Class: Freshman | USC
Collier entered his freshman season at USC as the No. 1 high school recruit coming in and has hit the ground running. He is the most impactful player on the court for the Trojans. He has a little bit of Anthony Edwards in him in how explosive he is in the open court and how well he finishes at the rim. His 3-point shot remains an area of development (he did go 3-for-5 from behind the arc in a recent win over Brown) but if he can, his first option is always to get downhill and either collapse the defense for an easy pass or finish through contact. In his first four games, Collier is averaging 21 points and 3.8 assists and shooting 52% from the field.
3. San Antonio Spurs: G Ja'Kobe Walter
Ht./Wt.: 6-5, 195 pounds | Class: Freshman | Baylor
Walter is by far the best shooting guard early in the season, connecting on 40% from 3-point range on six attempts per game. He has great size at 6-5 and can defend the perimeter with ease thanks to his long frame and footwork. Walter is more than just a 3-point threat with the way he reads the defense with his long ball and his ability to create for others in spacing off the half-court set. He’s also a terrific rebounder for the guard position, averaging 4.8 rebounds per game and grabbing eight boards in an early win this season over Gardner-Webb.

Raptors should be able to recoup a pick by trading Siakam just like we did with Vanv…. oh wait.

Before trade deadline: we will trade for a pick. Won’t happen
During draft: we will trade for a pick! Won’t happen
Always hear this crap and never happens.

This is the type of draft where the best player from it will be drafted 41st during a taco bell commercial.

I think Alex Toohey is a guy to watch this year late in the first or maybe DeShawn Harris-Smith in the second. Who knows if the team will have any picks, but it is always fun to watch the NCAA season unfold.

Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
Not sure where he'll go in June but I have Tyler Smith in my top 15 right now and rising. Athletic stretch-4 with length putting up nice numbers in the G League. Reminds me of a mix of Bosh and Sam Perkins.
