I’m no detective but Jaylen possibly playing yet having a groin injury makes me wonder how much of it it postering to make sure these courts aren’t an issue and he’s just really lucky it’s not an actual injury.

Since we’re comparing them to ‘08 this is the Paul Pierce in a wheelchair and it’s a metaphorical “poop your pants” moment for Jaylen.

Adjusted to strength of schedule, the Celtics enter this game night with the #1 offensive rating, #1 defensive rating, and #1 net rating.

Do with that what you will.

Ive yet to really compare them to the 08 team, I’m just saying people always make those kind of comparisons lol.

Plus, 08 celtics? Pass, this is the new 86 Celtics, 72-10 Bulls, 73-9 warriors.

Psshh comparing them to past teams… amateur stuff. I say they are like the 2043-2044 Celtics or the 2079-2080 spurs

Personally I think the comparison to the 43-44 Celtics ends with Deuce Tatum being our best player. Aside from that they are a lot more dominate.

But like, that’s how things work lol. You can say they remind you of 07-08 so far, doesn’t meant they are a lock to win the title.

IDK. I mean the 2008 Team was what it was. Everybody could see early on that they were something special.
And now, even members of that 2008 Team have said that this Team (2024) is reminiscent of that year.

They didn't Win the Championship, until the last Game. But, we had high hopes, long before that.
And the current Team is like an Average of 7-8 years younger. They have that Specialness about them.

Let's just watch, and hope that all this translates into a Ring.

The big 3 of 2008 was truly a big 3. 3 perfect and complete HOF players. All could dribble, drive, pass, post, shoot and defend at an above average level. Then they had Rondo who was great in every aspect of the game except shooting and you never wanted him to take a shot with those other guys anyway.

This team has 5 very good to great players plus White. That said, only Tatum is on par with any of the big 3.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Well at least that puts something to bed. Glad they moved on from it, but there definitely used to be speculation they didn’t like each other and that does seem to be true at one point.

Oh well. Appreciate Marcus but very happy those two are split up, even if they patched up their off court differences.

Now let’s just not get beat by the Phantom of The FedEx Forum.

I really liked him in the draft (hat tip to Hal for mentioning him). I was hoping there was some way to get him.

Let's just pray they don't regret playing him in a meaningless game we can easily win without him.

I feel like this is a mistake. Jaylen should Not be playing so soon after a Groin Injury.

The 2008 Celtics were a supremely talented team but also had massive flaws (which was not unusual for the era). Defenses in 2023 would've exploited Rondo, Tony Allen and to a lesser extent Leon Powe, Perkins, and the other non-shooters. As it is they barely got through the 3 EC rounds in consecutive 7 game serieses. I can't imagine Doc adjusting properly to teams sagging off of non-shooters and packing the paint.

When you have a dream, you've got to grab it and never let go. Nothing is impossible. The word itself says 'I'm possible!’ There is nothing impossible for those who will try. Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. You define your own life. Don't let other people write your script. Do not allow people to dim your shine because they are blinded. Tell them to put some sunglasses on. During our darkest moments, we must focus to see the light. Believe you can and you're halfway there.
