RS 23/24 - Mavs @ Lakers (Wed. 10:30PMEST)

Post#1 » by Dirk » Mon Nov 20, 2023 2:18 pm

Must win game.

Renewed energy after Jason talked with the boys about their nightly basis job.

“Our effort and energy, there’s no excuse about the schedule,” Kidd said. “It’s about being able to do your job on a nightly basis. We just didn’t do that.”

Image

The Lakers have won 5 out 6 (two of them vs Portland/Memphis) and they also got blasted by the Kings.

Lakers will hurt the Mavs at their weakest problem area ,the frontcourt. Look for the lakers to try to bully the Mavs to win .
Look for Kyrie to have his way against the Lakers though.

3 game losing streak, here we come.

AD is going to torture us and (sadly) I could see Christian Wood playing well. Mavs are straight up ass cheeks on defense.

What part of us matches up well against a tall roster?

They don't play big, last game they started with AD, Russell and 3 small forward...

LeBron is a unicum in the history, you can't compare him with noone  his skillset+size is incredible.

GW is a big body SF who can play PF. It's good.

Easy win, Lebron or AD will be out early in the game.

If Kyrie has a big game you can expect the Lakers to wonder how he'd look in purple and gold and if Rui has an impactful game against the undersized Mavs ,will they notice. DLo just ho hum.

Lakers played with size which is the Mavs achilles heel but Doncic and Kyrie will answer back . Mavs play small their going to get hurt.Rui has a 7'2 wingspan as well as Christian Woods and Jackson Hayes has a 7'6" wingspan for their 2nd unit . With Lakers 4 guards being 6'4,6'7,6'5,6'5" I hope the 6'5" Exum gets alot of playing time ,he deserves more playing time.

Hayes plays only in garbage and he is not part of the rotations, Rui and Wood are each 20minutes guy.

Lakers are bigger than us but they are not like T-Wolves or Denver.

Of course if stupid Kidd will play D-Rex Powell + 4 guards we will outsized for sure but Irving-Luka-Grant-DJJ-Lively match well their S5. (Russell-Reaves-Prince-Lebron-Davis).

Rui and Wood are each 20minutes guy.

The last 3 wins for the lakers ,Rui avg 29 MPG and Woods avg 22 mpg and Mavs should expect them to play similar minutes against Kidds smallball 2nd unit. Hayes played 19 minutes last night.
AD and Lebron can still play almost as big as Denver and bigger than Minnesota.

Last night was a blowout, the game finished after 3 quarters so the starters played 24/29 minutes.

And you think for some reason they're dumb enough to play small against us when our weakness is obvious to everyone but a few hillbillies on this board?
