Please, that's something you and Celtics fans need to be losing sleep and coping over. Those wins have been coming with multiple guys out (including Herro and Caleb) and partly Jimmy just being completely unengaged until recently. Worry about Dame, Brook, Kris all continuing to regress ,Dame being a pylon defensively and almost ineffective when his shot isn't on. Be unimpressed by "mediocre" regular season wins all you want. At the end of the day, come post season no one in the east scares Heat/Jimmy, Spo. Enjoy.Bucksmaniac wrote:Sign5 wrote:Lol even when Riley doesn't win he wins. Dodging injured goods in Beal. Heat currently 7-4 and 3 of the guys that would've been packaged elsewhere are all having stellar or career years. Go figure.
You better hope they realize they can’t play Herro much if they want to keep on winning. A bunch of close wins against mediocre times btw is probably not a sustainable way to have a great season.

He will be fine this year, my issue with him is how will he be next year after playing 90+ games this year.
He's over 2 years younger than Curry is. A guy who can shoot like Dame can probably play at a high level for at least two more seasons after this one
First off everyone is different, more guys fall off than remain stagnant at that age. MY point was now is he going to play next year after playing 90+ games this year. Curry has missed 20 - 25 games every year for the last 6 years. We don't know how Curry would hold up with that 90 game toll on his body either at this age. Lillard has avg 60 games a year for the last 4 years, his body is rested, he has not played 90+ games ending in the middle of June and come back to camp 12 weeks later.

Damaged goods and a pylon on defense..sounds like you are talking about tyler herro?
Fact is, Herro hasn't exactly been a beacon of good health over his short career, including getting injured two playoff runs in a row...Heck, Dame's played more games than him so far this year.
Tyler's averaging 56.6 TS while Dame, even after a slow start is at 60% TS. In the playoffs, literally no one is scared of Caleb Martin, 38 year old lowry, or herro. You are projecting big time my dude.

Is this where we're supposed to point out what Lillard's ppg average was last year and then look at it this year and claim for a fact that Giannis is making him a worse player?

If the Bucks beat the Wizards, they'll have a better win percentage than last year
But the point of the trade is that Jrue Holiday has had 3 straight seasons of his offensive production falling off a cliff come playoff time.
The Bucks are hoping Lillard can score in the playoffs where Holiday couldn't.
And the Celtics are hoping Holiday can fix his playoff underperformance.

Re: Damian Lillard struggles big time right now
Giannis had offseason surgery and didn't train nearly as much as he has in the past. Lillard admitted he didn't train much waiting for the trade. Middleton is also coming off surgery. However it looks now, it's going to look a lot better as the season goes on.
Bucks are 12th in defensive rating since moving Lopez back to the drop (he should have never left). If they can stay around that level on D they will be a nightmare as the offensive cohesion picks up.

Not that bad of a "slump" , tbh. He'll pick it up soon but he might not because he's older.

Lillard is really bad off ball and also tend to go into hero mode when game is close in the 4th quarter so everyone knew there gone be growing pains on his new team and Bucks need to find way to play the way that unlock both him and Giannis to be best version of themselves when they are both on the court.

Yea nothing in this post makes any sense try again. Just you trying to put words in my mouth. Dame IS poor on defense, where did I say Herro was was iron man and DPOY?
Did I state anywhere that Herro was more efficient or even a better player than Dame? Just a useless post all around.
Who said anyone is afraid of the Heat squad? You don't need to be afraid of anyone to beat 'my dude'.
Doubt Celtics and Bucks were afraid last post season yet they were still bounced out. Please. Point is Bucks don't look anywhere near as dominant as advertised THUS FAR. Neither are Giannis and Dame as synergetic as expected, still time to build that chemistry though.

You are pointing out concerns about Dame, yet fail to acknowledge that the main piece the heat were trying to trade for him have the same types of issues but is a worse player. Yes it is early, but celts and bucks are still ahead in the standings.

You can read right? so if you can, read the post I'm replying too. Thus Heat don't need to worry about your assessment since they're better without him surely? Fortunately they still get to keep JJJ, Jovic, picks etc and not have a huge bill to pay for few years. Again no one stated otherwise about Herro. Just because one point is made doesn't mean I must automatically acknowledge some other point. Where'd you get that silly notion from? If you were able to easily outline those points then clearly it's already obvious no? Two things can be true at the same time.ShootersShoot wrote:Sign5 wrote:ShootersShoot wrote:

Dame will be 34 soon and Herro isn't even 24 nor in his prime. Fact of the matter is Dame's numbers ar down across the board. The title is about Dame's struggles, all you're doing is deflecting my guy.

If you think keeping JJJ and Jovic is the path to a championship..then sure...but they arent... having a couple of young role players is better than a perennial all star? And the heat are paying herro 30 mill a year.. why is it not relevant to compare what he brings versus what Dame does, even if you did not bring him up.. ESPECIALLY after you described dame in the same way people would describe herro?

The title is about Dame's struggles, fact of the matter is his numbers are down across the board. Which is exactly why I wasn't huge on the trade in the first place. Dame is declining and will likely be one of the worst contract in the league. Contract-wise, you certainly have a point. We've seen guys like kyrie and murray win chips as second options. Dame clearly fits in that mold of player. He had been struggling, but at the same time the struggles were during the first 8 games of the season. To use that sample size as proof of anything isnt really logical or meaningful. Has dame been struggling in his most recent games?
He's averaging 30ppg in his last three games and the bucks have won 7 straight when he has played...if that is called struggling then sign me up any day of the week.

Yada yada yada, this current iteration of Bucks aren't beating the Nuggets (Celtics look better atm too) and a Heat team with Dame wouldn't either. Difference is one team isn't going to be stuck on the 2nd apron and even more depleted of assets and stuck with a declining small guard, at least Herro is 24 with room to improve.
However, according to you they should've traded those pieces away all to be able to take the Nuggets to 7 rather than gentlemen swept again, yh no.

Like I said, we have precedence where a team with a perennial mvp candidate and 2nd option questionable defensively point guard have won chips. I don't fault milwaukee for making a win now move. They have been playing well with Dame..thats my point, despite your assertion about his struggles. The nba has as much parity as ever. Dame gives MIL a chance at a chip they couldnt with the current version of Jrue. Saying herro has room to improve is such a cop out..even if he improved he still wouldnt bring the impact of dame. And if you are talking about a player's decline..let's talk about Lowry and how well he is going to hold up in the next 1-2 years. You saying they cant beat the nuggets may be true, but Dame gives them a better chance and they still have Giannis.
Dame, Butler, Bam is WAY better than what the heat have now. Why do you think they had been trying to trade for him all summer? Heck, they probably could have kept one of Jovic or JJJ as well.
You really think the heat are better off with those guys when Pat Riley of all people tried to trade them away plus assets for the same player you are trying to bring down? Basically, you are saying you disagree with Pat Riley. Yea, good thing that trade fell through, otherwise Pat wouldve looked really stupid wouldnt he?

Lol shows how much fans know when it comes to jumping to dumb conclusions as I been claiming all along that this is the BEST trade for the Bucks cause Dame is a C L O S E R while Jrue is NOT and never will be. That's why the C's lost in the play-on tournament while the Bucks advance.VaDe255 wrote:Bucks made a risky trade that seems to have back fired. Miami probably happy they got to keep Herro, who is outplaying Dame so far.
Celtics look like the biggest winner out of all of this, getting Jrue really solidified their roster.
I wonder how this turns out in the end, so far this is a disaster for the Bucks and there is a ton of pressure for it to work this year, every year after it just gets less and less likely.
Just admit it I AM RIGHT while all you doubters are WRONG!

Worst trade in the league? Who cares if his numbers are down across the board as long as he CLOSE the game cause he is a C L O S E R which you are clueless on. I hope your happy with your C's as they lost in their knock out round of the play-in tournament cause your guy can't close just like last season in the playoffs while Dame help Giannis CLOSE the game!

The Bucks are 9-2 in their last 11 games. Here are Dame's numbers during that time.

Good one.
