I do worry about Suggs's health. Hes been a lot better this year with his recklessness but I just hope his body holds up. Its a long season and he plays so hard.

he has been better but i think we just have to accept that Suggs will miss some games throughout the season. Similar to Caruso or Smart.

Yea comes with the playstyle. Caruso on the bench against us looked like he'd been in a car crash as much ice and bandages as he had on during the breaks.

It's just kinda the price you pay for young players providing elite defense. With development I think Suggs will learn how to be more efficient without getting beat up every game.

He would give us a better "3rd best player". A 50 year Chris Paul is more meaningful to this team than a tazmanian devil like Suggs. What he would do for Paolo and Franz alone is worth it.

and Ibaka was better than Oladipo when we made that genius trade...
Paul is a couple of years away from retirement while Suggs is 22 and has shown good improvement and potential to be a good 2 way player. We have all our picks to use for an upgrade at the PG position.

50 year old Paul is averaging over 7 apg and only has 2 less steals than Suggs who's entire glory is pinned on his defense.
I'd be happy to get a better player than Paul if possible. I just don't see the realistic options. Share some if you have

I wouldnt mind trading for Paul, but i wouldnt consider giving up Suggs. Or WCJ. We have all our picks+ the Denver pick and a roster full of young talent, we should use the picks in a trade.

Fair enough. But you should give some examples.
To be clear, I'm not saying trade for Paul and we're there. I included that trade idea as a combo trade that also brought in Lavine. CP3 alone isn't doing anything to completely change our fortunes by himself.

Ive mentioned quite a few trade proposals in the trade thread since the offseason. Brogdon would be nice, atleast he's still in his early 30s and we wouldnt have to give up any young players or multiple picks. I dont know who else would be available right now. We dont even know if CP3 is available.
You think Lavine and CP3 are going to transform this team into a contender? I dont see it. Paul is too old, and Lavine just has never been that good. He puts up good scoring numbers but really isnt a big difference maker. Only made the play offs once in his 9 year career and lost 1-4 in the first round.
We're tied for 4th in the east with a bunch of of starters between 19-22 years old. We're fine. Only way we can come close to becoming contenders is to acquire a superstar, and in that case Suggs and anyone and everything outside of Franz and Paolo would be available.

What does it matter if we took him at 5 or 35 at this point? He's on our team, he's young, and he's a very good defender whose offense is getting better. A better question is why isn't there more support? He's good already.
Because we invested a very high pick in him, obviously. We didn't need the 5th pick to find an inconsistent guard.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

I'm loving the hoops some posters are jumping through to justify why Suggs isn't good or up to their standards.
You do realize that if he was a high volume shooter and 3-level scorer he would be near allstar level in year 3.
Orlando has the #1 defense in the league, and he is one of the best guard defenders in the league, with him in the starting lineup to start the season. It's the only significant change from last season. Do the math.

How is Giddey doing? How is Kuminga doing? How is Davion doing? How is Ziaire doing? How is Bouknight doing? How is Primo doing? How is Duarte doing?
Because that’s the rest of the lotto picks outside of Franz. Which one is outshining Jalen right now?

So if AB isn’t doing much on offense, does that mean they’ve unlocked the positionless offense and Suggs can be the smallest player on the court? Not that the offense is good but maybe it removes some of the concern about Suggs as PG.

Just be thankful that they don't run the team.

I was looking at the 3pt% leaders. You know which ones are shooting the ball from 3 worse than Jalen?
Everybody's draft darling Shaedon Sharpe. Benedict Mathurin, Khris Middleton, Jordan Clarkson, Cam thomas, Cade Cunningham, Mikal Bridges, Chris Paul, Trae Young... you getting the hint? I could keep going on and on and there posters on here who would trade Suggs for a grip of these players that he's shooting the 3 better than for not shooting the ball good enough.

Jalen Suggs is HIM.
Get an elite playmaking scorer next to him in the backcourt and this team takes off to another level (or two).

If we somehow trade Suggs for CP3, this looks exactly like Serge Ibaka trade to me.
