Assigning him to the G League makes the most sense. Hopefully he dominates.

He just needs to be ready for when we move on from Gary Harris or Joe Ingles. Next year maybe.

Good. Young guys need minutes...doesnt matter where. Frankly if Black falls out of the rotation once we are fully healthy, i wouldnt mind him seeing time there too. Houstan is a little bit harder since we do need depth on the bench, but he needs minutes too.

Who knew that the guy that was projected to be a late frp pick cant break the bench rotation.

Good thing we selected the Michigan guy over players that were projected in that pick range.

Bufkin and Dick aren't doing much either in limited minutes. Hawkins can shoot and hes getting minutes I guess. Lively looks solid as well as Keyonte.

You think Black will fall out of the rotation? I'll be shocked at this. You just don't bench a high lotto pick, and certainly not when they've proven they can start.

I would argue there was never reason to keep that pick. This would happen to any other player drafted by us.

Jett... Jett.... Jett.... What to make of this guy who we were forced to cling our hopes to because every other offseason move was crap. I like Jett... I don't like seeing him rot on the bench. So yeah, this is a good move. But you would think that a guy who can shoot would be able to find time on a team that needs shooting.

One odd ball blowout win against the Pacers has the Magic thinking they are better than they are??? We're all messed up in the head. Weltman wasted the value of 2 lottery picks. Better talent, better trades available, but nah... just add more underdeveloped guys who are way to raw and/or need G League time.

Meanwhile Jordan Hawkins looking like the real budding star we needed all along. We only passed on him twice.

This. He would be riding the pine too. Gary Harris, our bench 2-guard, is a better defender AND shooter than Hawkins is today.

Unless Gary cost too much, I actually think we keep him. He needs to stay healthy.

Jett replacing Ingles almost makes zero sense. Ingles is a mentor on the court who runs the offense. He is a great shooter but Jett would be a major downgrade.

Joe Ingles is on a two-year contract and can barely move. At some point he will be let go or they'll give him a contract extension, but eventually someone will need to take his place.

Re-read my post, it might make more sense that way. I didn't say it would have to be next year. I said maybe.

jordan wouldn't play on this team brodie....Jett is not playing primarily because of the depth and his defense isn't up to par....Jordan is allowed to just chuck up shots on that pelicans team....i think one game he attempted like 13 3's....you honestly think jordan would be able to chuck up that amount of shots on a Jamahl mosely team? When paolo and franz have games when they don't even get 13 shots total? come on man, it shouldn't be that deep

I don't know...and I am not suggesting AB should be out of the rotation...personally I'd be happy with him getting starter minutes even if it was a detriment to our record this sason.

When this team is fully healthy...guard rotation
Fultz, Cole
Suggs, Harris
Are we benching any of those guys?

Will we just put Black out there as a 3rd guard/wing with the 2nd unit. Cole/Black/Harris...at the expense of Ingles or Wagner. Maybe?

I guess I am just basing it off the first 4 games where we were healthy, and we ran a 10 man rotation that did not include Black. What I really don't want to see is them trying to get creative on getting Black minutes on rest days or mop up duty.

Maybe he's a bit slow on the defensive scheme uptake...He'll get full-time tutoring down there and they'll focus on his specific needs. If he's got a couple of specific things holding him back, they can give him a crash course and get him back up quickly...He would also benefit from just lighting it up and restoring his confidence. NBA defenders can definitely humble young scorers.

Good and expected.

Let us see if he can dominate against inferior competition before joining the big boys.

The draft still doesn't make sense to me, Jett was a reach and I like black but the fit is questionable. I was hoping we'd have packaged those picks along with one of the guards to move higher in the draft or get someone more established that can play now

AB is great defensively but having him out there is like playing 5 on 4 on offense, he contributes absolutely nothing on that end and hasn't been racking up assists either. I don't know what his minutes will look like once fultz is back but if he's not playing much I'd rather him be in the g league also working on his game
