Shoutout to Inglin' Joe
It's like everybody was killing the signing at first and now that we are seeing him play we realize how good this guy is.
His experience and steadiness as a ballhandler has meshed with our young ruffians perfectly. He puts passes right at the perfect time into the hands the hands of our guys and they know how to finish the play. His ability the navigate a screen and angle his defender around the screen how he wants is far advanced and there's a reason why he helped Utah have some of their best seasons in years. There are many times when he can get into the paint and make a perfect pass just because of his knowledge of how to use the screen.
His drop off pass on the fastbreak to Isaac for the dunk was a thing a beauty, as was his lead pass to Cole Anthony in the half court at the perfect time when Cole's defender was out of position which led to a Cole Anthony slam.
Let's go Inglin Joe!

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

I was all for the signing initially, but I admit I was ready to write him off after our second game this season. He looked stiff and his shot wasn't falling. But now that he's gained some chemistry with the guys, he is balling! Our second string is really good.

Watching him run the pick and roll with surgical precision after all the mediocre guards who have tried and mostly failed for us at this in the last decade is a thing of beauty. I wish our athletic guards had even half his vision, but alas...

He's obviously skilled and understands basketball at a high level, but I still doubt his physical ability at this point. He moves slow and reacts slow. It is nice to have his knowledge being taught here though, its clear how much he talks to the team.

Re: Shoutout to Inglin' Joe
There is always a lot of noise made about veterans serving as "player coaches" for young teams -- even Gary Harris got some run in that respect last year -- but Ingles seems to actually make an impact in that respect.
Plus they have him another year in case the team needs some sense knocked into them, like if they get a little too entitled and confident from higher expectations coming into the season.
The bench mob is a great place for him when 3 of the 4 other guys in the lineup have a surplus of energy.

I must admit when we signed Ingles, “assists” was not what I thought he would be providing this team.

He's clearly still a bit out of shape, but it's not like dude forgot how to play. His BBIQ is still super high.
Now they just need to get him some more open catch and shoot opportunities...

Jingle's PnR with Gobert was always a thing of beauty. I sincerely hope Paolo, Franz, and the rest of our bigs can learn from him.

He's been low key an elite pick and roll ballhandler for a long time. That, together with his shooting, was the main reason I welcomed his signing and I never understood the posters who questioned the need for him. He is exactly what this team has needed for a long time.

One of my favorite players in the leaque since his rookie year. Still remember the outcry here when we were rumored of signing him in 2017.
He probably would have been our most impactful player (except the few games Isaac been healthy) in the Vuc, Evan & AG era.

Wait till his shot starts falling. It's going to be game over.

Re: Shoutout to Inglin' Joe
I said it and I will say it again. He might lead our team in assists this year
His family loves Orlando and that was written on Athletics article. He could be a really good player for us in the next couple years

See his value and has been trending in the right direction..... He's still hard to watch on the defensive end though

Good to see him do something on the floor finally, but that money would be wiser spent on starting PG.

Maybe he would cost more, that cap space could be used in a trade.

1 year deal w/a team option, space can still be used in a trade. At least it's not going to waste. Seems like the best of both worlds to me
