Id much rather resign Lo Duca to a one or two year deal, heck id rather Castro. Posada is coming off one of the best years for a catcher ever you cant overlook that, but he is just to old at this point.
I am alarmed with Posada because of these factors:
He had a GREAT year at 36, IN HIS CONTRACT YEAR, preceded by average "Posada" years.
We're going to have to commit at least 4 years if we sign him, making him 40.
He's got average defense now, but I can't live with him when he will be 40.
I don't trust how he calls games. I like Lo Duca because I think he calls great games.
I'll respectfully take a pass unless the Yankees refuse to give him year #3.
If it takes 3/42 or somewhere in the low 40s to sign him, I'll probably do it. But thats what the Yankees are going to offer him anyway, unless the new Steinbrenners are nuts.
