Re: Around the NBA 12
Anyone here still keen to swap futures with Detroit?
I think I'd still much rather have our roster than theirs. Even taking into account future picks I think we are in a better spot than them.

I think Lamelo can be all nba this season if we could actually start getting some wins. On that alone with him only being 22 absolutely not.

Exums defense has made him an important part of Mavs rotation, annoys me we didn’t try to get him.

LaMelo > Cade
Miller =Ausar
Miles > Ivey
Mark = Duren
Pj= Stewart
Hayward = Bogi
Rozier = Alec Burks
NSj< Sasser
Richards= Wiseman
It is close if you lay it out like this, but our top 3 clear their top 3.

Re: Around the NBA 12
How is our talent compared to Orlando? They're 9-5 and just beat the Raptors by 20.
Melo > Paulo
Miller > Black
Rozier < Suggs
Gordon < Franz Wagner
Mark > M. Wagner
Nick = Goga
PJ = Anthony
On paper, we have similar talent levels. Yet are records are reversed. The only thing they obviously have over us is a good backup PG. Although their roster also fits together pretty well.

They're a better constructed roster and haven't had any crazy injuries yet. Talent isn't our problem.

Re: Around the NBA 12
Scoot now with just 1 dunk in 8 games. Ja for instance averages 0.84 dunks per game for his career vs 0.12 for Scoot.
Miller with 7 dunks in 14 games thus far, a few big missed dunks too.
Middleton for example averages 0.18 dunks per game for his career, had 30 dunks combined in his first 3 seasons.

Re: Around the NBA 12
Yeah I would agree, but we live in a world where we treat all first rounders the same when news comes out like this and it is very easy for that to be misleading. It could have been 2 firsts in 2028 and Pistons might have been trading a 2nd back. Who knows.
Same with all the OG and Mikal Bridges 3 firsts talk a year ago, it sounds cool on paper until you find out that 1 is heavily protected and will likely be 2 2nds, one is pick 25 this year and the last one is a future Warriors pick or something. Context matters, but the news is leaked and its for shock and awe factor.
Same with Boston offering 5 picks for Kaminsky all those years ago.

Is there more low laying fruit in the NBA? This is such a casual basketball take. Shocker the team with the lowest win total projection is bad and the guys that are the 50th and 60th highest paid players in the league aren't good #1 options.
Poole legit won a title as a #2/3 option on a good team. I don't understand how people don't understand fit and role is a huge factor in the NBA. Everyone loves OG Anunoby, put him on the Wizards and give him 20 shots a game as a #1 option, do you think he excels? my gut says no, doesn't mean he is a bad player. Same with Kuzma, switch him and Obi Toppin in Indy and you don't think Kuzma is thriving in that role?
Add to the fact the Wizards have bottom 5 starters at their positions in Gafford, Tyus Jones and Deni Avdija.

Agreed. Kuzma is on similar money to Rozier (but descending). I'd trade him for Rozier in a second. Kuzma needs help but he's been playing pretty well this year IMO. He's just not Durant or Tatum.

Kuzma is just the kind of low BBIQ "get mine" guy we seem to love. He's never going to be on a winning team as anything more than like a 4th option
