Yeah, they were playing high level defense down the stretch. To be fair, that's not hard to do against us due to our having no amazing offensive players, but they were still bringing it.

I was a bit worried when cade publically called out the effort. He hasn't exactly been dependable on defense himself. But he stepped up with probably his best defensive performance of the year.
And we finally got some scorers around him in the starting unit and it looked much better. Now we need to focus on execution, especially in the 4th. We had decent motion and ball movement for most of the game, and then the 4th quarter comes along and we start just pounding the rock with cade over, and over, and over.

Denver missed a ton of layups!
I also thought Malone and Jokic got ejected purposely. I even thought for a second, "Maybe this is for Brendan's Pistons, and this 12-game losing streak.. We need rest, so if we lose against the Pistons, oh well, it's 'family'"

I just found out that the Michigan State starters are older than our starters on the Pistons(if you include Duren). That's crazy as hell!
I know we can't use the "young" excuse, but at some point we gotta be realistic

Fairy tale time is over, I see. Now that Livers is actually back to playing, folks can longer romanticize about him being twice the player he actually is.
Here's hoping he rounds into a productive, injury-free, role player.

People have over hyped livers, if he stays healthy (huge if) he will definitely be a serviceable guy off the bench maybe spot starts

We desperately need competent role players. And competent players for that matter

Hayes + Sasser + Burks + Livers + Bagley
Could be a good low MPG bench unit would be with Morris but it looks like Morris might not play this year.

So who of Cade, Ivey, Ausar, Bojan, Beefstew, and Duren is out of the rotation if that's the bench?

When Bojan comes back, he's likely starting for one of Ivey (most likely) or Stewart. Monty made the comments earlier this year when Burks started that it would have been Bojan with Cade/Ausar/Stew/Duren.
I'm guessing Ivey will be back with the bench unit and depending on how things are going for them, one of Hayes or Sasser will be on the outside looking in.

Re: GAME 15: Nuggets @ Pistons 7PM (11/20)
Honestly I feel like the time on the bench did Ivey well and I thought he and Cade looked really nice playing off of each other in the first quarter last game. It's not essential they start together or anything (starter or not is overrated), so hopefully they play some stretches together either way, but at this point not sure my ideal experimental starting lineup wouldn't include Ivey. Though I guess it's also really tough to start both Bojan and Ivey defensively ....
Until Duren's back, I might try Cade, Ivey, Ausar, Bojan, Beefstew, though.

Ivey was very bad on defense against Denver, he lost KCP a few times, resulting in 2 wide open 3's that got him going.
Ivey's offense has always been fine, minus when he was mad because he was on the bench. DEFENSE is his problem.
Ivey and Bagley were absolutely terrible on defense against Denver, everybody else was fine, including Wiseman, who had ups and downs, but imo he was much better than Bagley.

Re: GAME 15: Nuggets @ Pistons 7PM (11/20)
I thought Bagley competed a lot more on defense than he had the game prior at least. He and Cade both brought more energy on that side of the floor than I'm used to from them.
I don't know how to look up metrics on this type of thing, but I don't get the impression that any of Cade, Ivey, or Bojan are particularly good on defense. We're not going to survive on offense if we try to put everything on Cade, though.

Yes, I can't complain about Bagley's energy, he's trying super hard, his problem is his BBIQ.

I see you nba, only $10 lost total, but I’ve bet twice jokic to get a trip dub, this game and last nights bulls game. Ejected in both, I’m not saying
I’m just saying. Lol
