I figured posters were knowledgeable enough in both guys if not at least the thread potentially creates interest in fans watching them.

Most fans are casual and only watch their favorite team and glance at box scores. Do any poll like this after 1 player has a couple big box games and you’ll get weird results like this.

Hey, I was speaking from personal experience. I'm far from a casual, and I wasn't torturing myself with Pistons and Rockets games the last few seasons. :lol:

Id go with Sengun because his skill set is just much harder to find. Legit offensive hubs from the 5 spot are just hard to find and they're pretty rare where most teams dont really have a defense built around stopping an offense built around that.

Duren is an athletic defense/rebounding guy that basically all of his shots come in the restricted area. 40% of his attempts are dunks and the average distance on his shot is 3.5ft.

Just skill set alone I would take Sengun. You can get guys that may not be the same level as Duren, but you can get 95% of the same impact in most drafts late 1st and early 2nd.

When you make comparisons, you do it by age or experience. When we're comparing them, it's to a 21 year old Jokic so don't come saying Sengun can't run a championship offense because neither could Jokic at this age.

I've seen this story before. You haven't watched enough to know anything about Sengun so when you're eventually forced to find out you're going to act like his rise happened when you noticed it.

There are exactly 0 people who can put up 20 highly efficient points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists with passable defense who are bench players. Regardless of position, that never happens. You have some kind of bias about it, who knows what but it's making your memory limited.

This is going to be a fun season to bump posts like yours.

this is like the holmgren/banchero thread. duren and banchero are really good players, it's no knock on them to say sengun and holmgren are better - those guys are just different. they are guys who will be on multiple all-nba teams. it's really good vs special.

Banchero/Holmgren more close to each other than Duren/Sengun IMO .

Not the best time to come back to this thread.

Duren played a few games injured, and has been out for a while.

Sengun is playing his at his best, with a functional team and they're winning, in a big part because of him and how good he has been.
