Lowry's expiring deal should be traded only for expiring deals.

I think that’s definitely the front office plan. Lowry for Dinwiddie and O’Neale is to the dollar trade.

Hopefully puts the trade rumours to rest. Niko gonna be a player for us, I really believe that.

Hopefully not, if there’s a trade out there that could potentially put us over the top and they want Niko he needs to go

If Niko is not showing the chops, then yes, sell now and sell high before people realize his potential is just that! But if he is showing the chops, which seems to be the case by Jimmy’s public display of affection, and you trade him now, then you sold low on a player that could have been what put us over the top.

Not sure what type of player would put us over the top for the package of old man Lowry and the currently unknown of Nikola Jovic. Who are you targeting with those two/picks?

Niko is the 7FT PG we need

Read on Twitter

“Nikola Jokic” is an interesting way to spell Duncan Robinson.

Cole Anthony
Spencer Dinwiddie
CJ McCollum

are 3 PGs i'd to get if the price is cheap, upgrading from Lowry is our biggest most urgent need.

Well, he is shooting 65% from 2, 35% from 3, and 80% from FT. I think hes doing okay.

Plus, he can get to the rim and finish.

Not the best defender yet but hes got very similar measurements to Wade. Good length.

He also would be a huge cost savings after this year. Combine that with possibly having Lowrys contract fall off the books and we could free up a lot of money.

Caruso + expirings for Lowry in some 3 team trade would work.
If Caleb continues to struggle, they could trade for Caruso straight up, with Caleb + some other small salary they see fit.

I don't think they need a trade, but there are trades out there, which they could make if they see them as upgrades and leave the cap space with enough wiggle room for next season.

I think people are more interested in him being the "Starting PG" but not actually playing the PG. Just for Defensive purposes and an outlet 3

Butler after Niko's last game: "Stop playing him at the 5, HE IS NOT A 5". Shot's fired at Spo

And I believe he followed that with a "Free my boy Niko"

It definitely is interesting to analyze how well we started playing as soon as Herro went down. It's only natural to examine it, I mean, the same thing happened last season, right? We got destroyed by the Hawks in the first play-in game, and then almost lost the second one as well - both games Herro participated in. But as soon he gets hurt, we go on to defeat the Bucks, Knicks, and Celtics. Fascinating..

That being said, I'm still not convinced we are a better team without Herro. Correlation != causation. Duncan is shooting nearly 50% from three since Herro went down. JJJ is shooting 44%. I don't believe these are sustainable numbers.

We don't have enough evidence imo. Teams usually struggle to find rhythm at the start of the season. Remember, Butler didn't play in the preseason at all, and our first 3 losses (@Boston, @TimberWolves, @Milwaukee) were all against the top teams on the road, 2 of which were without our best and 2nd best player (no Jimmy against the Wolves, no Bam against Milwaukee).

I like Caruso, but this Heat team needs someone who can smartly handle the ball, run plays and distribute to Herro Butler and Bam and allow them to be scorers. The team is a lot better when a halfcourt set is run and everyone is engaged and bodies are moving.

All right, let's first look at the games we lost:

Herro had a good game against the Celtics, played almost 40 minutes. I don't see an 8-pt away loss to Boston as that remarkable or an indictment of any player, although Jimmy's 3 for 11 shooting wasn't pretty. Bryant also did not look good in limited minutes.

Lost to the Wolves (1st place in the west now) in Minnesota without Butler. Herro and Robinson were both poor.

Hard to criticize Herro in this home loss to the Nets. Jaquez and Richardson were 2 for 18. Duncan Robinson was 2 for 8. A poor game from the bench but it was still close.

Our starting 5 is on a nice groove right now. I think Spo should consider Herro to come off the bench.
